Hufflepuffs - those who embody dedication, hard work, fair play, patience, kindness, tolerance, loyalty and are unafraid of toil. All of the other houses love to say that we are the least important, the least interesting, and the least favorable house of Hogwarts. But I beg to differ! Hufflepuff is the best house...here's 10 reasons why.

1. J.K. Rowling

J.K. Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter series, has claimed that her favorite house is Hufflepuff. To the official Harry Potter site Pottermore, Rowling said, "In many, many ways, Hufflepuff is my favorite house." And, because of our lack of need to show off and our carefulness, she says, "I think we should all want to be Hufflepuffs." The creator herself has said we are the best! Case closed.

2. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

Newt Scamander, famous magizoologist, is the main character of J.K. Rowling's newest movie that travels way back before the story of Harry Potter. And guess what? He's a Hufflepuff! A whole movie with a fellow Hufflepuff as the star? Sounds like we're pretty great to me.

3. Dark Wizards

The Hufflepuff house has created the least amount of Dark wizards than any other house. We truly are as good as it gets!

4. The Sorting Hat

The sorting hat even says, "They are just and loyal / Those patient Hufflepuffs are true / And unafraid of toil." What could sound any better, right?

5. Common Room

Not only is our common room beautiful, but it's right by the kitchen. Perfect for the ultimate midnight snacking.

6. Hogsmeade

Did you know the founder of Hogsmeade was a Hufflepuff? That's right, Hengist of Woodcroft was sorted into Hufflepuff when he attended Hogwarts and later created the only all-wizarding village. How awesome is that?

7. Battle of Hogwarts 1998

Second to Gryffindor, Hufflepuff's students were a main component when it came to fighting off Voldemort and his army to protect Hogwarts. Yes, we are loyal AND badass...even if we don't voice it.

8. Other Noteworthy Hufflepuffs

Our house has also produced many other wonderful and important figures in the wizarding world figures in the wizarding world. Some of these include Bridget Wenlock, who discovered the magical properties of the number seven; Artemisia Lufkin, Grogan Stump and Dugald McPhail, all former Ministers for Magic; Cedric Diggory, Triwizard Champion; TONKS; and many others who were in Dumbledore's army. We are home to more than enough awesome wizards.

9. The Fat Friar

Our house ghost is the Fat Friar, who is not only the coolest ghost there is, but he is also so kind and is willing to help anyone who is lost or needs help. No one can top him!

10. Our Mascot

Now the badger to some might seem pathetic, but if you knew the characteristics of a badger, you'd think differently. Badgers hunt a huge range of animals, from mice to even rattlesnakes. So, we are intimidated by no one, just like the badger. We will do anything to protect our friends and family, so don't cross us. And, we know how to lay low and defend ourselves. In my mind, badgers are one of the smartest, most badass animals out there.

You'd probably never know any of these because we are too humble to brag, but now you know. Just like J.K. Rowling says, we should all want to be as wonderful as a Hufflepuff. We are the kindest, most loyal, most tolerant, and most hardworking witches and wizards. Who wouldn't want embody such lovely qualities? Next time you hear someone belittle Hufflepuff, give them the facts.
