10 Reasons Why Having a December Birthday is the Worst

Without a doubt, having a December birthday is pretty horrible. If you have a birthday in the midst of the holiday season, I’m sure you understand the struggle. My entire life, I have been extremely envious of anyone with a nice May birthday or maybe June would have been more convenient. But no, December it is for me. December 26th to be exact, the day after Christmas, as if having a December birthday wasn't bad enough. So here’s to everyone else who has been forced upon having a December birthday.

1. When someone tries to tell you that your birthday isn't that bad

Until you experience having a December birthday, there is no room for your opinion.

2. When your friends and family try to wrap your gifts with CHRISTMAS wrapping paper

THIS IS MY BIRTHDAY. NOT CHRISTMAS. WRAP MY GIFTS ACCORDINGLY.

3. When your entire life is overshadowed by Christmas

Yes, this is one thing that even Jon Snow knows.

4. When everyone is away or has family obligations, so celebrating your birthday with friends is nearly impossible

Can we just start celebrating my half-birthday instead?

5. Even just thinking about my birthday being in the midst of the holiday season...

LOATHE ENTIRELY.

6. Your birthday is frequently forgotten about...

Christmas is more important than my birth. NO BIG DEAL.

7. People with summer birthdays just don't understand

What is so hard to understand?

8. Combined birthday/Christmas gifts

No explanation needed.

9. Let's not forget how EVERYONE has an opinion about your December birthday

"December is the best month for a birthday!" "Wow, December must be the worst month for your birthday!" THANKS FOR YOUR UNWANTED OPINION.

10. But you know what the REAL fuss is about in December

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ALL OF THE DECEMBER BABIES!!!

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about.
