As many of you may have watched last Wednesday night, the People's Choice Awards of 2016 premiered on CBS. Many celebrities were nominated and received awards for their impressive acting, singing, film directing, etc. One comedian in particular won two awards for "Favorite Humanitarian" and "Favorite Daytime TV Host".

This, ladies and gentlemen, is Ellen DeGeneres! I'm assuming most of you know who she is, but if you don't, here is an awesome website with a biography and documentary about her life. Basically, she is one of the world's greatest role models and in honor of that, here are 10 reasons why Ellen DeGeneres is amazing.

1. She's so De(GENERES)

I mean, her last name says it all. Ellen is simply one of the most caring individuals in the world. She is always helping people in whatever way she can, and hundreds of peoples' lives have been changed for the better thanks to her.

2. She's not afraid to be 100% herself

Ellen is openly gay and proud about her sexuality. She even jokes about it on her show sometimes. Because of this, she's become a role model for thousands of people and an advocate for equality.

3. Her dancing is on point & makes others want to dance too!

If you watch her show, you'll know that she dances with her audience at the beginning of every episode and then people from the audience dance during commercial breaks. Celebrities are also encouraged to dance when coming on the show.

4. She's hilarious & always puts people in a good mood

Ellen's jokes are the best way to de-stress after a tiring day of classes or a tough day at work. Whatever it is, there's a 99.99% chance that you'll be in a better mood after watching one of her episodes.

5. She scares celebrities & it's hysterical!

Seriously, I could watch videos of Ellen scaring people all day long and not get tired!

6. She promotes the importance of education

Ellen and her sponsors (like Shutterfly and Target) have written countless checks to students, teachers, and schools so they can continue being educated/educating.

7. She's a Cover Girl!!!

Even though Ellen doesn't wear a ton of makeup or dress "girly", she's a Cover Girl. This is super important because she's broken the stereotype of what is considered "beautiful", and that's inspirational to millions of girls!

8. She genuinely cares about her staff

Ellen actually knows who her staff members are and frequently interacts with them on the show. Many of them are part of skits, games, surprises, etc. and she even sometimes shows baby pictures of first time parents!

9. Her show is truly entertaining & fun to watch

People definitely appreciate the spoof videos, games, musical performances, and dances that are part of the show. No wonder it's so hard to get tickets to be in the audience!

10. She promotes kindness

In fact, Ellen says the same line at the end of every single episode, which is...

A huge congratulations goes out to Ellen for being an incredible role model, hilarious talk show host, and most importantly, a wonderful human being. You make millions of people all over the world happier each day, and for that, you deserve an unlimited amount of awards!

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
