10 Reasons Why Donald Trump Is The Worst.

This country is as polarized right now as it has ever been. If we can’t work together to run the good ole USA, we will no longer be “One Nation Under All.” Quite frankly, I do not see a racist, sexist, bigot like Trump bringing this Nation together. This article shows just 10 reasons why… There are many, many more.

1. "You've got to see this guy, 'Ah, I don’t know what I said!'"

As Donald Trump spoke this, he was jerking and flailing his arms, which everyone interpreted him as mocking Mr. Kovaleski’s disability. Once again, I asked myself how his supporters did not immediately condemn him for this? It shows a complete lack of tolerance for different people and is rude to Mr. Kovaleski, as well as every other disabled person in this world. Disabilities are hard enough to deal with without a man who is plastered all over every media outlet mocking you. This incident made many other disabled people and their families upset. It also taught people watching that tolerance does not always have to be shown, which is an unacceptable lesson to teach easily-influenced people.

2. “You know, it really doesn’t matter what the media writes as long as you’ve got a young, and beautiful, piece of ass."

This is just one of many sexist and misogynistic comments Donald Trump has made about women over the years. There are many articles online that compile all of the comments Trump has made about women, if that tells you how many there actually are. How any self-respecting female can vote for him is beyond my comprehension. Do you really want a man who views you as a "piece of ass" running the country you live in? Women, if not for your own rights, think about your daughters, granddaughters, sisters, aunts, mothers, nieces, cousins, etc. How would you feel if a man called any of them a "piece of ass?" Now imagine willingly voting for that same man, because that's exactly what you are doing.

3. “I could shoot somebody and wouldn’t lose any voters."

This quote is hilarious, because he's calling his voters stupid, and they don't even realize it. He knows that his loyal fan base is incapable of thinking rationally about this election; otherwise, they would have decided to not vote for him long ago. But alas, 900 negative, hateful, sexist, and prejudice statements later, and you are still supporting him. Your candidate just called you all idiots, do you care yet?

4. "My father gave me a small loan of a million dollars."

In what realm of this universe is one million dollars a small loan?! Especially when you take into account the fact that he received this loan years and years ago, when a million dollars went a lot farther than nowadays. Don’t get me wrong, I think anyone whose parents are willing to give them that type of money should definitely take the deal… I’m just tired of people making it seem like he made himself from nothing. He came from wealth. He doesn’t understand the problems middle and lower class Americans face. Why are you voting for a man who doesn’t understand the struggle you and your loved ones are facing?

5. “If I were running ‘The View’, I’d fire Rosie O’Donnell. I mean, I’d look at her right in that fat, ugly face of hers, I’d say ‘Rosie, you’re fired.’

Honestly, there isn’t much to say about this beyond hateful rhetoric. Donald Trump is a bully. The same bully you dealt with in school. The same bully who is making your children miserable. The same bully who pushed someone so far that they felt the need to harm themselves physically. The same bully who has caused kids to end their lives. You plan on giving the highest power in the United States of America to a grown-man who still feels it necessary to bully others?

6. “Sorry losers and haters, but my I.Q. is one of the highest -and you all know it! Please don't feel so stupid or insecure, it's not your fault."

Oh wait, Donald Trump is calling someone stupid or trying to make them feel insecure? No, that can’t be it. He’s not really a bully -- only when someone attacks him. Well, I hate to break it to all of you Trump supporters out there, but he really just enjoys putting people down in order to feel better about himself. There is no rhyme or reason to it. He. Is. Just. A. Bully. I’m hoping at least a few of you are catching on. Donald Trump spreads negativity.

7. "Complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country’s representatives can figure out what is going on.”

This is a great idea!! Let’s take it a step further and stop letting all non-whites into the country!!! Or we could put all Muslims in camps, and let’s call them internment camps!! That’s a catchy name... If any of you think any of the above are great ideas, please open a history book and read a little about World War II. The government forcing the people they were worried about (The Japanese in WWII, for example) into camps was a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad idea. We cannot fight hate with more hate. Discriminating against a whole group of people -- Muslims -- when a very small fraction of them are actually jihadists is not OK. How would you like it if 1000 Christians started wreaking havoc in the U.S., so our government said, “We decided to kick out all Christians until this threat can be neutralized, because we are scared of all of you, even though very few of you take part of these hateful acts.”

8. “When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending the best. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bring crime. They’re rapists.”

Ah, racial slurs. So easily overlooked when they don’t apply to you or your family, specifically. But what about your Hispanic friends? What about your child’s Hispanic teacher? What about the hardworking Hispanic man who helped build your dream house? You would probably argue that those are “good” Hispanic people, so they’re “safe.” But no one is “safe” if Donald Trump is elected President, because he is hateful, and hate is not predictable. (I also find it hilarious that he thinks he can make Mexico pay for a wall, but that’s a whole different story.)

9. “You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her whatever.”

More sexist comments!!! All I can say to this particular comment is “Ew.” To insinuate that the only way a woman can have a strong stance on an issue or ask hard hitting questions is because she’s on her period is ignorant and downright repulsive. Thank you, Mr. Trump, for the quick glimpse at what life was like for women before they were granted any real rights. I thoroughly enjoy how often you try and bring America back into the stone age, where only white men had rights and everyone else kind-of just existed to make those men’s lives easier. Newsflash: Women do have brains. We use them quite often. We don’t take kindly to men like you who try and throw our once-a-month natural bodily occurrence into our face as some sort of insult.

10. “He’s not a war hero,” Trump said at the Family Leadership Summit, during a discussion. “He was a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren’t captured.”

I think this particular comment not outraging his supporters was the most shocking to me. What a giant slap in the face to any veteran who ever captured during war… Basically he said, “You served valiantly for our country, while I was receiving a small million dollar loan from my father, but you were captured, so I’m not impressed. I’m just going to take that medal back. Thanks for nothing.” Absolutely disgraceful. Especially when you take into consideration that Trump was a Vietnam "draft dodger". Meaning, while John McCain was surviving as a prisoner of war, Trump was a college student at the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School having received a deferment. How interesting that a man who never once fought in war decided he can sufficiently define what a war hero is. Let's not forget the sacrifices of brave women and men who have fought and continue to fight for our country everyday are the reason Trump has amassed a fortune, the reason he can run for president in the first place, and the reason he can say all of the outlandish comments above... Trump likes people "who aren't captured". Lucky for us, this specific preference will come true when he does not capture the presidency in November."

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

The transition into adulthood is never easy

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
