10 Reasons Why I'm A Dog Person

Dogs. They come into our lives and fill a place in our hearts we didn't know was empty. They make our bad days better and undeniably contribute to a number of our absolute favorite days. At the end of it all, we have a best friend and one of life's greatest teachers. Below are ten reasons why I am, and always will be, a dog person.

1. Dogs are always happy to see you.

Nothing beats the excitement of your dog when you get home, whether it's been a good or bad day. Their tail is just a wagging away and they've got the biggest, most genuine smile spread across their face.

2. Dogs are the best therapy.

Whether you're sick, injured, or beat down by the stresses of life, dogs are perfectly in tune to how you're feeling. They know a few extra kisses and cuddles are exactly what you need, and they may even get a good laugh out of you too.

3. Dogs aren't complicated.

Feed them, play with them, let them sleep, and give them your heart. And a treat here and there. If you do those few, easy things you'll have a dog who will love you more than he or she loves themselves.

4. Dogs are down for any adventure.

It doesn't matter if you want to pass time at the lake or head out for a hike on a new trail, they're as game for it as any. After you take them out on that adventure once they'll be hooked for life, cue countdown until the splash...

5. Dogs are the best cuddle buds.

In the early mornings of the hour, nothing beats a shower of kisses from your beloved pet followed by snuggles. They are just so happy to love you as much as they can, whenever they can. Such a pure and deep love is impossible to resist.

6. Dogs want to make you a proud parent.

"See my toy?" "See my stick?" "Remember that rock you tossed into the water? I went to go get it for you! See?!" "See me sit here so pretty? I can shake too! Here, let me show you my shake, I can even do it with both paws and you're not even asking!"

7. Dogs remind you it's the little things that matter.

Whether they chew a couch cushion or your favorite pair of shoes, dogs remind you life is far more than material possessions. We own material possessions, yes; however, they do not own us.

8. Dogs teach us forgiveness.

We are, by nature, imperfect beings. When we make a mistake our dogs understand, they aren't looking for an apology and they won't hold a grudge. They love us just the same and still see us as the best human ever. Chances are, they're already thinking about the next game fetch.

9. Dogs amaze us.

How did you get up onto the counter without any chair to help you? Did you have an accomplice? Oh my goodness, did one of you somehow climb onto the other to get up there? You must have really wanted that blueberry pie.

Furthermore, they love us with everything they've got and then some.

10. Dogs have it figured out.

As the story below says, dogs leave Earth first because they already know how to "live a good life--like loving everybody all the time and being nice..."

Dogs are apart of your best memories, they are your biggest advocate and your greatest teacher. They are irreplaceable and our biggest blessings.

Dogs ask for so little but deserve so much.

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
