What better place to create a fast food joint than a homey Midwest state like Wisconsin? This franchise began in 1984 when Craig and Lea Culver decided to open a ButterBurger and Frozen Custard stand in Sauk City, Wis., and they have been growing throughout the Midwest ever since.
10. Scholarship fund
Culver's VIP Foundation, standing for Culver's Very Important Partners Foundation, recognizes their own staff members' academic achievements by awarding scholarships to their team members who need them. This foundation started with a single $500 scholarship in 1993 and has gotten larger over the years.
