Everyone has their fair share of guilty pleasures, whether it be midnight Taco Bell runs or regifting presents that they didn’t want. Many American teenage girls though, are especially guilty of watching a certain TV drama series called Gossip Girl. Although the last episode aired almost four years ago, the craze for this show still remains intact. With Blair Waldorf as the Queen B and Serena van der Woodsen as her best friend/sidekick, who would ever dare to mess with the Upper East Side hierarchy? And with Chuck Bass and Nate Archibald as the perfect eye candy, none of the girls would ever get bored. But Blair’s cunning and manipulative nature coupled with Chuck’s suave and slick mannerisms created some loud ‘Chair” explosions. What’s so special about Chuck and Blair you ask? Well, let me tell you.

1. They can never run away from each other, no matter how hard they try.

Blair went to Paris once to forget about Chuck’s betrayal, only to casually run into him on the streets of France. Chuck left for Monte Carlo in attempts to forget about Blair, but she tracked him down and showed up at the same casino he was at. But this doesn’t just imply physically running away from each other; they were never able to emotionally run away from each other either, no matter how much they tried. Once Chair, always Chair.

2. They both get freakishly jealous when they see each other with someone else.

Let me just tell you: the number of times that they tried to make each other jealous and the number of times it worked and they got back together is outrageous, but at the same time, it’s the cutest thing ever. Jealousy, rather than pulling them apart, actually brought them together because they realized how much they need each other in their lives.

3. They changed for each other.

At the beginning of season one, Blair was insensitive and blunt, and especially judgmental. Chuck was the biggest playboy from the Upper East Side; he didn’t care about feelings and long term attachment, but by the end of the show, all the teenage fans were swooning over his gentlemanly nature.

4. They irk each other like no one else can, always pulling each other’s strings.

They know each other’s sensitive spots and Achilles heels, and they annoy each other more than they annoy anyone else.

5. They took forever to say “I love you”, but when they finally did, their bond was stronger than ever.

“Three words. Eight letters. Say them, and I’m yours. ”No further explanation necessary.

6. They’re both incredibly stubborn, and it’s hilarious because they both want the same thing most of the time.

Their competitive nature always creates tension between them, but it’s more like a playful game than hateful avenge.

7. Their son Henry is the most adorable child ever.

Chair’s baby is the product of true love, and plus, he’s just the perfect, classy, little boy, the best combination of their most precious qualities.

8. They’re the masters of scheming.

On their own, they’re amazing, but together, they’re explosive.

9. They sacrifice so much for the “happiness” of the other.

At one point, Blair promises God that she’ll marry Louis if Chuck lives. She sacrifices her own happiness for Chuck’s life, and she comes through with her promise in fear that Chuck won’t live.

10. They got married while running from the police, and then got taken to jail right after.

Personally, I think this is just plain funny and especially unique to only their relationship.

But of course, there are so many more reasons why Chair is #relationshipgoals, but I would go on all day if I had the chance, so I’ll stop here. Either way, I hope everyone who loves Chuck and Blair as much as me agrees with their undeniable sweetness, and everyone who hasn’t watched Gossip Girl yet should immediately drop everything and binge-watch it on Netflix right now.

Friendship. It's defined as the state of being attached to another person by feelings of affection or personal regard, but what really is friendship? Is it that occasional hallway talk with that one person who always manages to cheer you up? Is it that relationship you have with someone where they can be gone for a long period of time, but when they come back, it's like they never left? Is it spending every waking hour with someone, and knowing every detail about their life? Is it the relationship that's filled with fighting, but filled with even more resolution? I've learned that it's all of these things, and every friendship is different. It's a beautifully dysfunctional mess that should always be cherished and never be taken for granted.
