10 Reasons Why Cats Are Better Than Dogs

If you are a not a cat person, I feel sorry for you. And I am not entirely sure that I trust you, because how can you not love cats? As I listen to my two dogs hellaciously howl and bark down the hallway at absolutely nothing, I am reminded of how lucky I am to be the owner of the sleeping, black and white furball, curled up in the corner of my bedroom, minding her own business. The world is a cruel place and it’s hard living life surrounded by others who hate cats. Let me help to change your mind by listing why owning a cat can be the best thing in your life.

1. They’re puuuurrrr-fect. Seriously, who doesn’t love the sound of purring? It’s so sweet.

2. Paws. They're just so cute!

3. They don’t tackle you as soon as you walk through the front door.

4. No pests, but you do get presents.

5. They don’t bark.

6. They’re low maintenance.

7. Boys, having trouble getting a date? Cats are the way to a woman’s heart. Along with French fries. You’re welcome in advance for saving your romantic life.

8. They don't eat your shoes.

9. They’re entertaining.

10. It’s not that hard to communicate with them. Meow.

I'm not saying that I don't like dogs because I do. However, if I am given the choice between the two, I will always choose cats. I'll always love them, even if they hate me 99.99 percent of the time. Cat haters, stop trying to be trendy and come to the feline side. They're waiting for you.

Friendship. It's defined as the state of being attached to another person by feelings of affection or personal regard, but what really is friendship? Is it that occasional hallway talk with that one person who always manages to cheer you up? Is it that relationship you have with someone where they can be gone for a long period of time, but when they come back, it's like they never left? Is it spending every waking hour with someone, and knowing every detail about their life? Is it the relationship that's filled with fighting, but filled with even more resolution? I've learned that it's all of these things, and every friendship is different. It's a beautifully dysfunctional mess that should always be cherished and never be taken for granted.
