10 Reasons Why Brooke Davis Is The Ultimate Role Model
The CW

"One Tree Hill" has always been one of my favorite shows. Although it was never very popular, my cousin convinced me many years ago to start watching it on Netflix, and I obliged, not knowing exactly what it was about. Then I met Brooke Davis.

Although she is a fictional character on "One Tree Hill," I feel like I know Brooke personally, and that she is someone I used to know in high school. I have looked up to her since my first time watching the series, and therefore, I think that Brooke Davis is the ultimate role model. Here's why:

1. Brooke Davis isn't afraid to be herself...

...even when that means sitting in the back of Lucas Scott's car. Naked. She is comfortable with herself, even in her most vulnerable states (which mostly occur with Lucas, anyway). Brooke never filters her words or refuses to take on a challenge, because she knows exactly who she is and is confident in her beliefs. She's Brooke Davis. And this is what every girl should strive to be: themselves.

2. Brooke Davis is not afraid to admit when she is feeling insecure.

There are moments during Brooke's high school years and beyond when she reveals a less confident side of herself. As self-assured as she appears to all those around her, she admits that labels have hurt her. Brooke feels that she is not "enough" at times: not pretty enough, not talented enough, or not smart enough. However, she took these moments to realize that she is stronger than these labels, and is able to show all girls that labels cannot define who you are, unless you let them.

3. Brooke Davis has passion for everything she does, whether it's cheerleading, her clothing line, or her relationship with boys.

Brooke Davis is fiercely passionate about anything she sets her mind to. If she wants to win a cheer competition, she makes it happen. If she wants to start a clothing line (which she does), she makes it happen. If she wants a boy, she makes it happen. No matter the circumstances or the obstacles, her passion always brings her to the top. Even when there wasn't a win or she didn't get the boy, her passion never faded, and she always remained faithful to herself.

4. Brooke Davis starts her own clothing company... twice.

If the previous three reasons why Brooke Davis is the ultimate role model didn't sway you, this one certainly will. Brooke starts her own clothing company during her senior year in high school, which she names "Clothes Over Bros," after Lucas Scott breaks her heart (aww!). She begins her clothing company as a distraction from her heartache, but she soon finds that designing clothes is her true passion. After a scandal causes her to lose her lucrative company a few years after its creation, Brook remains dedicated to her passion, which leads to the creation of a new line of baby clothes, named "Baker Man." Brooke always remains levelheaded and spirited, even in the face of money, fame, and scandal.

5. Brooke Davis desires everything that all young women desire: love, security, and a place to call home.

Brooke does everything in the name of love. Although she is a strong, independent young woman, she desperately wants someone to love her for exactly who she is. She searches for a sense of home in every relationship she explores and desires to find a love that will last a lifetime. She is a hopeless romantic that wants an epic love story. Even though she has to wait many years to find the man of her dreams (Julian Baker), she is undoubtedly faithful to the picture in her head. She never sways from her idea of what love should be, and sticks to this idea until she finds the man that can fulfill all her needs. Brooke teaches us to wait for what we deserve.

6. Brooke loves fiercely, and feels fiercely.

Brooke is the fiercest lover in television history. The most important aspect of Brooke Davis as a character is her ability to love, her desire to love, and her dedication to love. Although love causes her pain on many occasions, such as with Lucas and Chase, she never gives up on it, and continues to trust in her ability to feel this emotion. Brooke also feels fiercely. Every feeling that she has is expressed throughout her entire life and among her relationships. She doesn't keep anything bottled up, but rather allows herself to feel everything she experiences. Although this is sometimes difficult for her, she always trusts and acts upon those feelings.

7. Brooke Davis never backs down from a challenge.

Even after Brooke is brutally attacked in her store, she stands up, brushes herself off, and continues with her life. She takes this challenge as an experience to put behind her and learns how to stand up for herself in a dangerous situation. She doesn’t see the attack as a weakness, but rather a way for her to get stronger and more powerful. She gains confidence in her ability to fight back, and knows that she can retaliate if it happens again. Brooke teaches us that we are all strong enough to overcome obstacles and move forward as a stronger person.

8. Brooke Davis always defends the people she cares about.

Although Brooke and her best friend, Peyton, fight and experience ups and downs, Brooke never fails to defend Peyton in any situation. Brooke always supports, loves, and defends her best friend in the face of adversity. Brooke is vigilant in supporting all of her friends and giving them the benefit of the doubt, even when they hurt her. This is one of her best qualities, because although she appears to be shallow and conceited, she is brutally loyal to those around her, but isn’t explicit to others about this quality.

9. Brooke Davis is never afraid to pour out her heart, even when her feelings aren't reciprocated.

Brooke is known for her long speeches to the boys (and girls) who hurt her, and I admire this quality in her. Because she loves fiercely and never backs down from a challenge, she uses her voice as an outlet to express her feelings and to let those around her know what’s going on in her mind. Brooke puts thought into everything she says and makes a difference through her words. She often expresses that she loves someone or feels an emotion about someone, but this feeling is sometimes not reciprocated. However, Brooke is not afraid of saying these things because it's how she feels, which no one else can understand. We can learn that our feelings and words have value, and one day they will mean something to someone.

10. Brooke Davis is beautiful.

I know this sounds superficial, but you have to admit that Brooke Davis (played by Sophia Bush) is beautiful. But I'm not really talking about her looks. I'm talking about her soul. "One Tree Hill" itself is a beautiful story, but Brooke Davis is the one character that causes every person watching to laugh and cry at the same time. Her love and passion, along with her humor and lighthearted spirit, brings you into her life and makes you want to be best friends with her.

We can learn so much from Brooke Davis, and these are reasons why she IS the ultimate role model.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
