10 Reasons Why Boys Suck

This was an idea that struck me the other day while brushing my teeth (I guess inspiration strikes at the strangest times) after a friend and I had gone out for milkshakes and discussed our frustration with boys. Generally speaking.

I thought I’d let some of the people in my life anonymously voice their own frustrations about boys, however harsh or honest they may be. So here are 10 different reasons from 10 different girls on why boys suck.*

(Disclaimer: This is purely satirical and does not apply to all boys and may also not be able to be helped/changed by boys themselves. If any offense is taken, take into consideration why these statements are typically made and how we can start a conversation to change them.)

  1. Lisa, 20: “They never answer your texts or calls, but if you don’t answer theirs, prepare for World War Z.”
  2. Andrea, 20: “I think boys suck because, well I mean it’s not really their fault, but they’re taught not to show any emotion when they’re really just as or more emotional than girls. And then that makes them act like jerks.”
  3. Sophia, age 19: “Guys love to play their own little mind games. One day you’re the center of their world and the next? You don’t even exist in it anymore.”
  4. Meredith, age 20: “Guys want sex ALL THE TIME. No matter where they are or what they’re doing. THEY.WANT.SEX.”
  5. Olivia, age 21: “Once a cheater, always a cheater.”
  6. Caroline, age 20: “Sometimes guys just stop talking to you and start ignoring you with no warning or reason.”
  7. Madison, age 20: “Guys have no feelings.”
  8. Amy, age 20: “I don’t really understand it, because they’ll make it sound like you have this future together or that you’re ‘the one’ or whatever, and you fall for it because you can’t imagine it coming from any other guy or that this guy would want you. And then they stop talking to you out of the blue, and you’re left feeling alone and stupid for having had that hope in the first place.”
  9. Mary-Kate, age 20: “They have poor listening skills, they smell, they always think they need to be tough, they make crass jokes in class, oh and they smell. OH, and they can eat forever and not gain weight.”
  10. Ashley, age 19: “They never shower, they touch their balls in public, and pick their nose. And they can keep all their body hair and feel warm, while we’re expected to shave.”

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
