10 Reasons Why My Boyfriend Is My Best Friend

One of the best qualities to find in a boyfriend is that he can become your best friend too. I know I'm so lucky to have my best friend and boyfriend be the same person, and here are ten reasons why he is:

1. We have a lot in common.

Believe it or not, my boyfriend and I do have a lot in common. Between how we like to spend our free time, they way we were raised, and even what we study in school, we find more similarities in each other practically every day.

2. He introduces me to really good movies.

Before I started dating my boyfriend, I wasn't really into watching movies. Of course I enjoyed watching a good movie from time to time, but this only happened occasionally. I also never went to the movie theatre, but now my boyfriend and I go at least a few times a month. He is really into watching movies, and when we first started dating he made a mental list of all of the great movies I was "missing out on." Now that we've watched quite a few of them, I completely understand what he meant.

3. Regardless of what mood I'm in he can always make me laugh.

No matter what mood I'm in, he knows how to make me laugh. Seriously, he doesn't even have to try that hard. He just knows.

4. He's always willing to go out to eat with me.

Whether we're sitting in the drive-thru of McDonald's, a stall of Sonic, or at a table at Carrabba's (all of our favorites), he's always willing to grab something to eat. Of course there are times when I'd rather just eat at home, but I really love ordering out.

5. He always passes me the controller when he plays video games.

Just like with watching movies, I never really played video games prior to meeting my boyfriend. We don't do this often, but whenever we do he always passes me the controller. I'm pretty bad at all of the games we play, but at least I can make both of us laugh.

6. Even when I think I look gross, he doesn't.

Like any girl, when we first met I always tried to look my best. But now that we're so comfortable around each other, it's not that I don't try, but I can just look like my natural self. He doesn't love that me any less than the made up me.

7. No matter what, he's always around to talk.

Whether it's early in the morning or extremely late at night, he's always there to talk. Even when we're not physically together, I know I can always text or call him about anything. Often times I just need to talk, and who better than my best friend who also happens to be my boyfriend.

8. We can talk about absolutely anything.

I know I can always be one hundred percent open and honest with my boyfriend about absolutely anything. I never have to worry about being embarrassed or him thinking I'm weird because he doesn't mind. He's always willing to listen and talk about anything no matter what it is.

9. He understands me.

My boyfriend is one of the only people who I feel like understands me completely. It's a comforting feeling know he just understands and knows how I am.

10. He loves me more than I thought anyone could.

Like everyone else, you never really know how loved you can be by another person until you experience it. I never thought I could be loved as much as he loves me, and it goes without saying that the feeling is mutual.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
