Being a part of the Drama Club has made me who I am today.

During my sophomore year, I made the decision to become part of one of the best clubs at school. It's often criticized by those in the sports clubs, but it's okay. We don't take it personally. We know that they just don't understand. I mean, not everyone has the amazing opportunity to be a part of the Drama Club.

1. You can be as weird as you want and not worry about being judged.

Everyone in the drama club is just as weird as you. If not, they're weirder!

2. The members of the club are your second family.

They're there for you in times that your actual family might not be, and they know how to comfort you.

3. They support all of your other passions besides the school shows.

Do you like taking photos? The director will let you take the headshots! Are you in another play outside of school? The director will post on the drama club's social media accounts and promo for your show! Everyone in the club tries there best to support you and everything you do.

4. You guys bond over favorite musicals and soundtracks.

You randomly start singing songs from your favorite musicals. You can be in the middle of a conversation and randomly burst out into singing "Sincerely, Me" from "Dear Evan Hansen".

5. You reference past shows you've done.

Even two years later, you find yourself quoting a show you did.

6. You love the pre-show circle.

This includes many rituals to pump the cast up for each show, like prayers, hand squeezes, heartfelt speeches, singing, chants, and crying...lots and lots of crying.

7. And you get hype about the Broadway trip every year.

The bus ride to and from NYC is filled with singing songs from your favorite musicals, laughing at dumb jokes, getting closer to your fellow cast members, and once in a lifetime opportunities to see Broadway shows.

8. The director is one of your BFFs.

The director is basically the only teacher you actually like in your school. You can talk to him/her like he/she is one of your friends.

9. You're gassed all day the day after the show is over.

Literally, the best part of being a part of the play is everyone telling you how great the show was and how great you did, even if you were just ensemble.

10. It truly feels like something special.

Joining the Drama club was definitely the best decision I've made in high school. I made some lifelong friends. They're the sweetest, most down-to-earth people I know. They're always there for me and they're the only ones who understand my crazy self.

I will forever be grateful for this experience and I will carry everything I've learned from it wherever I go.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
