10 Reasons To Visit Ireland

Ireland has to be one of the most beautiful places on Earth. With long stretches of vibrant green countryside containing huge and historic castles, it's somewhere every person should visit during his or her lifetime. Whether you have Irish roots or not, make this country a destination on your bucket list. While only 10 reasons are listed, there are many aspects of Ireland you will miss out on if you fail to travel here.

1. Landscape

The previously mentioned countryside really is breathtaking. Everything is green, and full of life. You won’t be able to put your camera away.

2. Cliffs of Moher

Another place where you won’t be able to put your camera away. Although pictures don’t do it justice, these enormous cliffs are a great place to take your typical touristy photos. Make sure to dress warmly!

3. The Locals

Everyone in Ireland is super friendly and welcoming! Not to mention their cute little accents as well.

4. Blarney Castle

You can’t go to Ireland and not kiss the Blarney Stone! You will then receive the “Gift of Gab.” Also, the area surrounding the castle is filled with so much history and different legends. Makes sure to stop by the “wishing steps” in order to have all your wishes come true within the year!

5. Luck

Everywhere you go, you see signs about being lucky. After all, the luck of the Irish is real! Find a leprechaun or a four-leaf clover, and you’ll be set for life.

6. Live Music

Walking on the streets of Cork, you will see live bands everywhere performing for a range of audience members. There is something about hearing music throughout your day that makes you feel good.

7. Pubs

Going to a traditional Irish pub is even better if you are actually in Ireland. You have to get a Guinness or a cider, for it doesn’t get better anywhere else.

8. Student Nightlife

If you are studying abroad in college, the social scene in Ireland is always present. Especially in Cork, there are so many different places to go, whether you are looking for a bar or a club.

9. Public Transportation

Unlike most places, the public transportation in Ireland is cheap and extremely easy to figure out. You can bus anywhere in the country in a short amount of time, even from the southern tip to Northern Ireland!

10. Sightseeing

I know I mentioned the Cliffs of Moher and the Blarney Castle, but there are many other options for sightseeing as well! You could spend a whole week here and not run out of things to do. Ireland is a pretty special place.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
