10 Reasons You Should Get Up in the Morning

Beep! Beep! Beep! The obnoxious shrill of the alarm clock signs its terrible song yet again! I know how you feel, it was like you just laid your head on the pillow for a nice, rejuvenating sleep, but instead all you got was a bunch of weirdly realistic dreams about your math test, the ACT, and how you're supposed to pay for college, and for some reason, just to add to the already existing anxiety and worry, you were 8 months pregnant. After scary dreams like that, and a less than intriguing day ahead of 7 hours of school, speech team practice, play practice, work, and homework ahead of you, getting out of bed seems like a worse decision than ignoring the radar at Pearl Harbor on December 1st 1941. Okay maybe not that bad, but sometimes it's hard to think of any reason to come out of your cozy cocoon in the morning. Whenever you're feeling that gravitational pull towards your bed in the morning, just remember these reasons to get up and start your day!

1. You have thumbs

You may not know this, but the fact that you have thumbs entitles you to so many things! Drinking water out of cups, braiding hair, making friendship bracelets. We are at the top of the food chain because of our thumbs, and we have really taken advantage of it with the whole creating society, technology, communicating, and indoor plumbing! You can do anything because you have thumbs!

2.There is music to be heard

I don't know about you but no matter where you are there is nothing more beautiful than hearing a catchy tune first thing in the morning. Whether it's a street performer, the radio, your Pandora app, or the little kid rapping on his way to school, let it brighten your day!

3. You are supposed to do such amazing things today!

The world is waiting for you out there! Don't let her down.

4. You can run, jump, skip, leap and sit all you want

We don't do it enough, so when you're feeling like not getting up in the morning give yourself a reward and play it's okay to act like your five again and do all of the things your body forgot that it could do!

5. Dogs

I think it is safe to say that dogs are the most beautiful things that have ever walked this earth, and here's the secret: They are everywhere!

And, they aren't like people in public, they like to be touched! Make a new fluffy canine your friend on the street.

6. There are attractive people everywhere

Go out and get yourself a man, honey! Strike up a convo at work or on the bus ride to school, love is waiting to happen to everyone.

7. There is food to be eaten

Forget about watching your calories and splurge on all of those tasty treats you hope to dream about!

8. Sometimes people have good things to say

There's always a nice surprise when going through your day of stranger or a best friend sharing a little insight with you. Whether they tell you their deepest secrets or just tell you that they like your necklace, you should look forward to the little things that people have to say to you all throughout your day!

9. Work may suck, but at least you get money!

Money can't buy you happiness, but it can buy you material things, and material things are happiness. Forget what they say about love.

10. The day would be sad without you.

You're the life of the party! Do you even know how many crushes you have waiting to pass you in the hallway or at they gym? It's beautiful and so are you! Get up and have a great day!

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.

What's up Asshat,

I've composed a list of things that I wish upon you, and they're harsh and cruel. These things are things that I wouldn't wish upon my worst of enemies, not even that Starbuck's barista who always screws up my order, not even him. You fall into a whole other category of hate. You surpass Starbucks barista. Congratulations, I'm actually a pretty nice person, making you worthy of every single bit of torture I wish upon you. What are these things I wish upon you you might ask?
