10 Reasons To Be Excited For Fall

Fall can be argued as one of the best seasons of all time. I personally think it is because I don’t know one thing that I don’t enjoy in the fall. Although there are some who hate the fall because that means that winter is coming, I don’t think they should see it that way...they should be excited about it, and here is why:

1. You get to wear boots!

I love all kinds of boots...ankle boots, riding boots, knee high boots. You name it and you get to wear it in the fall.

2. Cooler Temperatures

By August people are absolutely dying of heat and humidity but when fall comes temperatures finally start to cool down and you can finally make hot chocolate and watch TV.

3. Less Humidity

This is such a game changer for all girls. Fall finally means your that your hair will not be ruined after hours of trying to straighten your hair...you finally won't be a giant frizzball walking to class anymore.

4. FOOTBALL GAMES

I am personally a big fan of football games, and while they can get extremely cold at night. The memories you make with your friends at football games are unforgettable, regardless if it in high school or college.

5. Halloween

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays of all time and it is the time where you get to dress up in costumes, eat a boat-load of candy, go on haunted hay-rides and carve pumpkins with the family!

6. Apple Picking

This is possibly one of my favorite things to do in the fall because not only can you enjoy doing this activity with your family, you can do it with your team or a group of friends. It’s is amazing how an activity that is so simple can generate so much fun within a group of people.

7. The Changing of Scenery

When the leaves finally start to become a different color it is one of the best views to look at. Everywhere you look the trees look gorgeous...and not to mention listening to the sound of the leaves crunching under your feet.

8. Not only does Fall mean Halloween, it also means THANKSGIVING

If you don’t like Thanksgiving you are kidding yourself. Thanksgiving is one of the best holidays because you get to eat everything without anyone judging you or your mother telling you to put down the spoon of mashed potatoes because you have more than plenty.

9. Fall Outfits

The outfits in the fall are easily my favorite outfits throughout the year because you have some many light sweaters or cute t-shirts you can wear with your cardigans, or maybe a cute jacket. Plus you can wear your jeans (or leggings) with an adorable pair of boots or converses.

10. Pumpkin Spice flavored everything

There is pumpkin spice EVERYTHING during the fall. It's amazing how many things can be flavored pumpkin, such as toothpaste, muffins, candy, candles, gum, lattes, coffee, ice cream, bread...truthfully the list is never ending.

11. Fall is my favorite season of all time.

I love how the leaves change, there is pumpkin flavored everything, the holidays, football games, and even the cooling of temperatures. Fall makes everyone happy because truthfully it gives people the much-needed break from the humidity and heat that summer provides us.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
