Some say that the best holiday of the year is Christmas. Others say it's New Year's Eve. But to me, Thanksgiving is the best holiday of the year. It's during the best season of the year (Fall), you get to eat all day (score), and you get to be with the ones you love. Who wouldn't want to celebrate those things? Thanksgiving is one of the most underrated holidays and should be at the top of the "Best Holidays of the Year" List for these reasons:

1. You eat to celebrate.

Who wouldn't love a holiday centered around food? Not only is it centered around food, but it's centered around comfort foods. Turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, mac & cheese galore. It's like a dream come true.

2. No one judges you for eating "too much."

Sometimes sweatpants are even encouraged at the dinner table! No one bats an eye when you open up the button of your pants or declare yourself in a "food coma". That's just Thanksgiving.

3. Football

All. Day. And it's the best day to watch it because it's on every sports channel you turn on.

4. It brings the family together.

To bond over food, sports, eating too much, being too full and not feeling a little bit bad about it.

5. It's basically the nap holiday.

Thanks, tryptophan.

6. Turkey > chicken > ham > steak

You get the point. It's the superior meat.

7. It's truly about quality time - and not just about gifts.

Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas, but sometimes it's too much about the material things and not enough of the true meaning of the holiday. Thanksgiving is great because you get one of the best gifts of all - spending quality time with the people you love.

8. The weather is perfect.

You're not cooking in the summer heat and you're also not trapped inside people of a snow storm. I think that Fall is the best holiday and Fall and Thanksgiving go hand in hand

9. It's a time to be thankful for what you have and for the people in your life.

If there's one day out of the year that forces you to be thankful for the things you have, it's Thanksgiving. Sometimes life is hard and you need a day of reflection and what better day than this day.

10. Leftovers

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
