Ain't no party like an Athens party, 'cause an Athens party don't stop. [Clap clap.] If you had one shot, or one opportunity. To seize everything you ever wanted. In one moment. would you capture it, or just let it slip? OK, I'm done with the pump-up chants, I promise. I just get so excited when I realize that every day I get to wake up at the best school in Ohio and don't even have to worry about going to class. I can just sit back and enjoy it for all it's worth.

1. You never have to leave hOUme.

It's never easy saying goodbye to a view like this, but if you never leave you don't have to!

2. There's always something to do.

Whether it's doing various activities in a suit, going canoeing down the Hocking, or hitting up a movie at Fun Barn, Athens provides many opportunities for fun.

3. The bars are blissfully empty.

There's so much room for activities!

4. You can survive off of 50-cent slice night and 50-cent cheese sticks.

You could literally be this happy couple every Wednesday for the rest of the summer. Who doesn't want to be that happy holding a slice of bread, cheese and sauce?

5. No drama.

It's time to get away from the high school bullshit that seems to stir itself up again every summer.

6. Exploring is at an all time high.

Being in Athens for the summer makes me just as excited as this adorable puppy running free to wherever they please. Wanna take a day trip to Columbus? No problem. Should we camp at Hocking Hills? Why not.

7. Nelsonville Music Festival, Boogie on the Bricks, Brew Week -- 'nuff said.

What's better than (mostly) free entertainment?

8. It's a good time to meet new people and be open.

I would talk about cheese all day with Channing Tatum if I saw him walking around Athens.

9. Your parents get excited when you come home to visit for a couple of days.

Distance makes the heart grow fonder, and when I say fonder I mean when you finally come home you better believe mom has all the goods waiting for you.

10. Everyone wants to come visit.

You have an open house and Court Street a step away. Who in their right mind wouldn't?

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
