It's really not that boring.

Okay, maybe you read the headline and you're like, "C'mon Jackie. Golf is entertainment for old people." Sure, it's a little slower than other sports, but I promise, if you give it a chance you may surprise yourself. Here are 10 reasons why you should give golf a chance.

1. It's pretty easy to understand.

Try to get the ball in the hole with the least amount of strokes. Like any sport, it's easier said than done. Yep, Barney, that simple.

2. A bunch of cool kids are doin' it.

Okay, just because all the cool kids are doing it doesn't mean you shoulddo it too. But in this case, you should try. Wouldn't it be cool to bump into Niall or JT while golfing? Talk about goals.

3. Golf lingo impresses people.

Even if you don't talk to Uncle Jim about anything, golf will most likely be in his realm of vocabulary. By round 3 of The Masters, you'll find yourself saying, "Man, did you see Dustin Johnson three-putt 18 for double bogey, giving Jordan the go-ahead putt for the green jacket?" Right on.

4. Jordan Speith.

Well, if you don't know who he is, you should definitely ask Grandpa Google to help ya with that. He went to a Jesuit high school (#represent), is 22 years old, and is currently seeking out his second career Masters win as I am writing this. He's the Tiger Woods of our generation and it's awesome watching him achieve his goals. And last I heard, he's single, sooo...

5. You can see players lose their cool...

Even to the point where they throw their clubs in the water...

It's only pure coincidence that both GIFs are of Sergio Garcia.

6. You can get all the feels from a win.

Everyone is so excited when Adam Scott (the golfer, not Ben from Parks and Rec) won the 2013 Masters.

Or, James Hahn channelling his inner Psy!

7. You can witness crazy shots like this!

I mean the rules do say to play the ball where it lies.

8. Golf Channel.

If watching the major tournaments just aren't enough for you, then you've got the golf channel. Golf all day every day, 24/7.

9. Super gorgeous views

In order to make the course look pristine, the Masters go to extremes. I've heard rumors that they put the plants in ice to stunt the growth of them until the Masters weekend comes around. They also paint the flowers if they don't bloom on time!

10. If you're really not into it, it will cure your insomnia.

Okay, okay. Stop rolling your eyes, you really don't want to watch golf. Even if you don't enjoy golf, anyone could still use it to their advantage. All you do it turn it on and let the soothing sounds of the commentators' voices lull you to a deep sleep.

Regardless, golf is awesome and you should definitely try watching it sometime! Enjoy the Masters!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
