10 Reasons Why My Sister Is My Best Friend

10 Reasons Why My Sister Is My Best Friend

1) If someone listened in on our conversations they would think we were crazy

Plenty of times my sister and I will be hanging out and I think to myself, omg we're crazy, but I love it! My sister is the only one person I can 100 percent be myself around. I have the most fun when I'm with her and we're both just as crazy as each other, so yes we're weird, but it works!

2) We can be brutally honest with each other and not get mad (sometimes)

If she hates my outfit that day, she'll tell me and vice versa. We need someone like this in our life, and and I know that I can turn to my sister to give me the best advice. She tells me when my makeup or outfit looks bad, but she also tells me when she loves my look, and that is the greatest compliment ever.

3) We always have each others backs

Yes we fight like cats and dogs, but the minute someone else says something bad about my sister, look out. Being the older sister doesn't always mean I only look our for her, she looks out for me too. We can call each other the worst names in the book, but the second someone else says something bad about the other, we can be fierce.

4) We grow closer with age

When my sister and I were growing up and even in high school we used to fight so much. It would get to the point of tears and we wouldn't talk to each other for a whole day. We would fight over the silliest stuff too, I can't even remember what our arguments were about! Now that we're older, and I'm away at school, and my sister will go away to school in the fall, we rarely fight and we spend as much time together as we possibly can. We love each other when we were younger up until now, but we don't fight as often because it feels silly to us now.

5) She knows me longer than any of my other friends

I have some friends that I have known for a pretty long time, but being best friends with someone since birth guarantees that you know that person, sometimes even better than you know yourself.

6) I laugh the hardest will my sister.

No one can make me laugh harder than my sister does. She just knows how to make me laugh at any moment of any day. When I'm with my sister, I get an automatic ab workout.

7)She's always up for a last minute adventure

When we're both home over the summer, bored with nothing to do, we are always trying to think of fun things to do, and they are usually last minute!

8)Double wardrobe!

My sister and I are the same size which means my closet is doubled at all times. When we get sick of our own clothes, I make my way to my sisters closet, which usually has cooler outfit options than mine.

9) Someone to stay up late and just talk with.

"Let's stay up and watch a movie!" turns into talking about random things until you both fall asleep, and you wouldn't have it any other way

10) You'll always be there and so will she

You know you have her to count on in tough situations, happy ones, and everything in between.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
