This past month the reboot of "Ghostbusters" was released, much the chagrin of whiny man babies everywhere. Despite those naysayers who claim the new movie is just a lesser version of the old one, here are the top 10 reasons why you should go see it.

1.It is exactly what the whiny man babies hate.

The movie stars four strong independent females who don't need a man to have a plot line. Their ghost busting adventures are perfectly fine without creating an unnecessary love triangle with the movie's eye candy, Chris Hemsworth, which is why it passes the Bechdel test. Alison Bechdel, creator of the cartoon "Fun Home," created this test to determine if a movie had at least two female characters who spoke to each other about something other than a man or his romantic intentions. Bechdel would certainly love this movie, as the ladies have much more important things to talk about, such as busting ghosts, per say.

2.The four leading ladies aren't just any Hollywood hacks.

The main cast is comprised of only the funniest of females: Melissa McCarthy, funny since the days of "Gilmore Girls," "SNL" alum and fellow "Bridesmaids" star Kristin Wiig, and current "SNL" cast members Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon. If you've ever seen Leslie Jones hitting on Colin Jost at the Weekend Update desk or Kate McKinnon's Ellen Degeneres, you know you are dealing with prime talent. (My personal favorite: Cecilia Jimenez. Do yourself a favor and watch it.)

3.And speaking of Kate McKinnon, AKA everyone's biggest crush, let's stop for a second to fawn.

Those glasses would look terrible on anyone else; how does she do it?!

Does she know she has the heart of every baby gay in America?

God bless you, you national treasure.

4.Another fun fact about Kate's character: the director most likely intended her to be played as gay...

But due to some interesting back and forth between him and the studio, unfortunately it cannot be canonically confirmed.

5. But despite the unfortunate lack of LGBT characters, the movie has been inspiring many young girls across the country.

The severe lack of women featured in Hollywood makes strong female representation incredibly important, not only for white girls to see themselves as the heroes, but also for girls of color to see themselves in the leads of big blockbuster hits, especially in a world where famous celebrities get bullied off of Twitter by a constant spew of harassment from racist trolls.

6. It's funny.

With all of the controversy surrounding it, people tend to forget that it is only supposed to be a remake/sequel of the original movie, and as far as sequels go, I'd say it exceeds expectations. I would argue it is funnier than the original, which now seems fairly dated and to be honest just "meh."

7. But, if you're one of the people who cling to the fact that the original cannot be surpassed in comedy genius and quality...

Then you should be comforted by the fact that all three remaining members of Ghostbusters '84 have given the movie a thumbs up. Yes, all three have praised the remake and have their full support for the new generation. (So maybe, dude, calm down a little bit?)

8. Did I mention that Kate McKinnon, comedienne extraordinaire, is in it?

She's like a combination of a denim jacket, Justin Bieber and a rainbow.

9. I'm so sorry.

(But am I?)

10. In conclusion:

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).

No matter how long your class is, there's always time for the mind to wander. Much like taking a shower or trying to fall asleep, sitting in a classroom can be a time when you get some of your best ideas. But, more than likely, you're probably just trying to mentally cope with listening to a boring lecturer drone on and on. Perhaps some of the following Aristotle-esque thoughts have popped into your head during class.

The Belchers hold the key to a better life.

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.
