10 Reasons Why Shameless Is The Best Show On Earth

Shameless is by far one of the best shows on television, for various reasons: the drama, the incredible acting, the constant surprises and humor. Here are ten reasons why you should distract yourself from finals and binge watch Shameless:

1. Lip Gallagher.

He's hot, a genius, and a great brother to all his siblings. We all want to change him and keep him from making self-destructive choices, but he keeps making a mess of things -- but we love him anyway. He's everything you want in a guy, except his tendency to try and ruin his own life.

2. The love/hate relationship we all have with Frank.

Frank is a terrible father and a raging narcissistic alcoholic -- but he has his moments. The guy can be occasionally kind to his kids, like in fleeting moments with Deb and Carl, and there are times when he's actually funny in his hare-brained schemes. Sometimes you love him, sometimes you hate him, but it's impossible to stop watching him.

3. Fiona is so badass.

Fiona is undoubtedly the toughest Gallagher and manages to work, keep the family together, and not fall apart over Frank's shenanigans. She raises five kids and makes sure Frank doesn't kill himself, which is the most shocking feat of all.

4. The surprises are CONSTANT.

Whenever I'm watching Shameless, I'm gasping in shock, laughing hysterically, or screaming over how insane it is. I'm constantly surprised at the wild twist and turns that happen every episode.

5. The bittersweet humor.

As funny as the show is, it's also incredibly sad at times, which makes it ever more likable and genuine.

6. All the Gallaghers.

The Gallaghers are a mess, but they love each other exactly how a family should, and are so likable in how genuine they are.

7. Kev and Veronica.

They're the best neighbors, and two of the nicest and funniest characters on the show. From taking in Ethel and learning to love her to lending the Gallaghers their toaster, Kev and Veronica are two huge reasons to love Shameless.

8. It's never boring.

Not once have I lost interest or gotten bored throughout all the seasons of Shameless.

9. The show starts amazing and stays amazing.

It's difficult for really good shows to keep their mojo and stay fantastic and interesting throughout its run, but Shameless does it effortlessly and keeps commanding attention.

10. There is no reason NOT to watch it.

I forced my roommate to watch it and all my family members; everyone loves it. There is no reason not to watch and love Shameless.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
