Every four years thousands of amazing athletes come together to compete against one another and it's downright incredible. It's easily the best two weeks of the year and here's 10 reasons why.

1. Simone Biles. Aly Raisman. The entire Final Five. That is all.

2. Michael Phelps and his 22 and counting gold medals. The man should have his own TLC show at this point

3. Olympic diving with all its speedo glory. Plus the funny faces are good to look at too.

4. Men's gymnastics and their clear lack of muscles.

5. KATIE FREAKING LEDECKY. Who didn't even have the competition in sight let alone on camera.

Pure joy.

6. Simone Manual when you couldn't tell what were tears and what was pool water streaming down her face when she became the first black woman to win an individual swimming event for the USA.

7. Ryan Lochte's bleached-chlorine-turned-greeen hair that somehow makes him look like a hot Aquaman.

8. Ethiopia's Almaz Ayana who ran the women's 10000m and not only won gold but broke 1 world record and 8 national records.

9. Michelle Carter who became the first American to win gold in women's shot put.

10. AND LETS NOT FORGET ABOUT THE OPENING CEREMONY INCLUDING GISELE.

11. Oh right, I'm not talented.
