10 Reasons October is the Greatest Month of the Year

You know it is.

Who doesn't love August? It's summer time, there's beach days, tanning, and endless sunsets. Then there's September, the excitement of heading back to school, moving in, and the start of football. But you can hardly dispute that October is the greatest month of year. Here are 10 reasons why:

10. Football is in full swing now.

The early games were good yea, but come on. The great games are here now. You go from maybe staying half the game because it's so dang hot, and our team is up by 26, to practically having a heart attack because the game is so entertaining and the score is so close and ahhhhhhh.

9. You don't have to change your shirt 3 times a day now.

Now that it's October the weather is FINALLY starting to cool off. You no longer have to worry about those epic sweat stains that show up after walking to every single class and re-emerge 15 times a day. Not to mention, tailgating and football games are so much better without worrying about dying from heat stroke within the first quarter.

7. The Clothes!!!!

October is easily the best month for fashion. You can wear pants with a tshirt without being too hot or too cold, open toe booties are finally doable, oh and 2 words...SWEATER WEATHER.

6. Starbucks and other coffee places have amazing fall flavors.

Pumpkin spice, salted caramel, caramel apple um... YES PLEASE!!!

5. The cutest date ideas were made in October

If you've got a significant other during this time of year, there should be no excuse for not going on a super cute date for the weekends in October. Pumpkin picking, apple picking, corn mazes, hiking, haunted houses. What more could you ask for?

4. All the Halloween movies your heart could desire...plus some.

Halloween movies are by far the greatest movies too. You can bet I'll watch Hocus Pocus and Halloweentown every October till I die. Not to mention the abundance of horror movies on tv at every hour of the day.

3. So. Much. Candy.

October = Halloween = Candy. The one month of the year where that secret stash of "fun size" candy bars you've got in your dorm doesn't seem so out of place.

2. Beautiful Scenery!

The leaves are changing to the beautiful oranges and reds that come with the month of October which makes walking to class and just being outdoors so mesmerizing.

1. HALLOWEEN

The best holiday of the year, I'll argue with anyone. This holiday has all the fun of regular parties, plus costumes...what more could you want?? Even though 99% of the people at the party will be dressed exactly the same ( this year we're expecting 99% Harley Quinn), you can bet everyone's got their own spin on it.

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.

To My Loving Boyfriend,

  • Thank you for all that you do for me
  • Thank you for working through disagreements with me
  • Thank you for always supporting me
  • I appreciate you more than words can express
  • You have helped me grow and become a better person
  • I can't wait to see where life takes us next
  • I promise to cherish every moment with you
  • Thank you for being my best friend and confidante
  • I love you and everything you do

To start off, here's something I don't say nearly enough: thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You do so much for me that I can't even put into words how much I appreciate everything you do - and have done - for me over the course of our relationship so far. While every couple has their fair share of tiffs and disagreements, thank you for getting through all of them with me and making us a better couple at the other end. With any argument, we don't just throw in the towel and say we're done, but we work towards a solution that puts us in a greater place each day. Thank you for always working with me and never giving up on us.

Because no one ever really leaves.

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area. Hauppauge is home to people of all kinds. We always have new families joining the community but honestly, the majority of the town is filled with people who never leave (high school alumni) and elders who have raised their kids here. Around the town, there are some just some landmarks and places that only the people of Hauppauge will ever understand the importance or even the annoyance of.
