10 Reasons My Sibling Is My Best Friend
Cierra Dillman

For the longest time i could honestly say i think my brother and i hated each other. Despised each other actually. We constantly fought and bickered and couldn't agree on anything. I had no intent to become close with him. Looking back now though, that was one of the dumbest ideas i had ever had in my life. He is the most supportive, genuine, kind human beings i have ever met in my life. Once my parents got divorced he was all i had. He was my rock. We stopped fighting and realized that out of everyone in this world, we only have each other for sure. I could go on forever but here is 10 things you know if your sibling is your best friend.

1. They always understand whatever family struggles you're having.

They are part of the family so they know whats going on. They're the best person to go to to figure out how to handle whatever the situation may be. They know all the crazy stuff that goes down and understand fully what exactly is happening.

2. No Judgement.

They have just as much dirt on you as you do them. It make sit a judgement free zone and you're able to tell them all the crazy fun stories you have.

3. You can tell them anything.

Some things they may not necessarily want to know everything, but putting their feelings to the side they honestly care whats up and are willing to listen and give advice when needed.

4. They know you almost better than you know yourself.

My brother can basically read my mind. He knows my facial expressions and what sets me off. We almost don't have to talk.

5.You can be yourself.

They know you're weird, no reason to try to hide it now.

6. They have seen you at your worst.

Whether it was sick and throwing up when you were 8, or crying heartbroken over a boy your siblings have seen you through it all, and still don't shun you.

7. Someone who protects you.

To have a sibling is to have someone who will fiercely protect you and your name with everything they have.

8. They don't expect anything in return.

They are just there. They don't want money, or food, or anything. They are simply there.

9. Even when others are against you, they are not.

When ever you make a huge mistake, or a bad decision they don't hate you, or leave you. They may think you're dumb, but they'll still understand.

10. They're a best friend for life.

Once you're old and grey your siblings are what you have. They've been around the longest and know the most.

I thank god every single day for my brother and everything he does for me. Hes my best friend, my partner in crime, and the taller sibling. But i would never trade him fro anyone else. So thank you brother, for everything.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
