10 Reasons Minnesota Is The Best State

Minnesota, the 32nd state in the United States, has plenty of fun, crazy, classic things to offer. It's a great place to be apart of, that's for sure. Here are some reasons why Minnesota is the best state in the U.S.

1. Fortune 500 Companies

There are 17 fortune 500 companies around the state of Minnesota, which is cool due to job openings.

2. There Are Actually Four Seasons

You get to go apple picking in the fall, sledding in the winter, spring clean in the spring, and unthaw in the summer. Sometimes, if you're lucky enough you can even experience all of them in one day.

3. Lake Life is Amazing

We are considered "The Land of 10,000 Lakes," which means at some point in your life you've probably been able to experience at least one of the clean and clear lakes we have to offer. You can fish, swim, tube, or just relax almost anywhere in Minnesota.

4. Hockey Means the World to Us

Hawkey is a major sport to Minnesotan's lives. We live, breathe, and pledge our allegiance to it.

5. Minnesota Nice is Surley a Thing

We are the nicest people you could ever meet..at least to your face.

6. Mall of America

Mall of American (or MOA to us Minnesotan's) is a big deal to tourists, but it's definitely not to us. It's too packed full of tourists for our liking.

7. Minnesota State Fair

Who doesn't want to participate in 12 days of deep fried foods, rides, concerts and fun? Oh, and there is a giant slide and Sweet Martha's Cookies.

8. We Have Fun Phrases

"Uff da," "you betcha," and "dontcha know."

9. Hotdish

Tater Tot Hotdish. Enough said.

10. Blondes

There are a lot of Scandinavian origins within the state, meaning there are a lot of blonde-haired blue-eyed Minnesotans. Also, blondes do it better.

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
