With its vibrant culture and extensive history everywhere you look, London is truly one of the most amazing cities in the world. Living there exposed me to some of the most wonderful things the city had to offer.

1. The Delicious Food

Whether it is street food you can find at markets or dishes by world-renowned chefs at boutique restaurants.

2. The History At Every Corner

From historic architecture to pubs with dated origins, to seems that everywhere you turn, you find a bit of history.

3. The Cool Music

London has tons of live music venues of all genres. Some of the biggest bands got their start in the popular music venues throughout the city. It’s the perfect place to discover new bands and music that will probably be on the radio in a couple of years.

4. The Trendy Shopping

Whether you’re more of a commercial, big brand, Oxford Street shopper or a vintage, Shoreditch bargain finder, London has the best shopping spots. It’s a fashion capital for a reason.

Street markets in London have great clothes, art, music and food from all over the world.

6. The Free Museums

Most museums in London are free to everyone. So, you can see amazing fragments of English and European history at the British Museum or the Museum of London, or witness the newest pieces from modern artists at the Tate or Design Museum.

London is known for having lots of parks in every part of the city. In fact, it has more green space than any other city in the world. You can walk through the trees at Hampstead Heath, see the skyline at the top of Primrose Hill or ride a paddleboat at the ponds in Regents Park.

At every High Street, you can find boutique shops and restaurants that bring character to every borough of London.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated.
