1. Decorating.

Being in a college dorm does not stop me from decorating. I love putting up Christmas lights and my fake tree. It’s relaxing to sit in my room with the Christmas lights on and watch a holiday movie and drink hot chocolate. Hopefully I don’t have too many extension cords!

2. Christmas Movies.

There’s too many to choose a favorite, but you can catch me watching them at all times. They boost my mood and make me happy and excited to spend time with my family.

3. Snow.

Although I am not a huge fan of the snow, I love to go snowboarding, tubing, and sledding and snow gets me into the holiday season. Snow is one of the best reminders that it is the holiday time, and makes me feel less guilty for listening to Christmas music on November 1st.

4. Christmas Music.

My motto is it’s never too early to listen to Christmas music. No one is really a fan of my singing, but Christmas music must be sung. My neighbors may judge me, but I do not care and I am spreading Christmas cheer.

5. Buying presents for friends and family.

I love seeing the look on my loved ones faces when they open a present and they love it. I love being able to buy something for my parents after all they have done for me.

6. Family time.

I love seeing all my cousins, aunts, and uncles that I only get to see for holidays. I love laughing and having a great time with them and catching up on life.

7. Christmas Drinks.

I love hot chocolate, although I drink it year round. It makes me feel better during Christmas time. Peppermint drinks are also delicious and adding a candy cane makes it perfect.

8. Christmas food.

I love having food, especially on holidays. There is so much of it; it’s warm and it fills me up, especially the dessert.

9. Chaos.

As soon as everyone gets there, you are getting a hug every second and I love it. I love seeing everyone so happy to see each other. Once everyone is settled in, the kids are all loud and talking over each other. It’s amazing.

10. Entertainment.

The best part is laughing with everyone. Whether it be someone tripping over a glass table, saying something stupid, or a silly game, it’s always fun.

Have a Happy Griswold Family Christmas!!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
