I don’t know about you but “The Lizzie McGuire Movie” was one of my favorite films growing up. A (mostly) relatable female character, adventure, and romance, what more could you ask for? Let’s revisit why this movie is so great. (Warning: spoilers below.)
1.The fact that the movie was filmed entirely in Rome, Italy!
I can look at the Italian scenery all day--and listen to those accents (the real ones).
2. Miranda is not in the movie.
Be honest, you know she was kind of annoying anyway.
3. Kate and Lizzie make up.
It was about time. Besides, Kate has her priorities in order.
4. Ethan Craft
His one-liners are the gift that keeps on giving.
5. Miss Ungermeyer
The scariest, yet funniest, adult presence in the history of children’s entertainment. Why she was in charge, I still have no idea…
6. Paolo Valisari
Every love story needs a complication, and enter Paolo. He was swoon-worthy until his true nature was revealed. Side note: The actor, Yani Gellman, was not from Italy (shocker, I know).
7. The fact that Lizzie got to pretend she was a popstar!
Fame and designer clothes. Who didn’t wish that was their real life at some point? (And this was before “Hannah Montana.”)
8. The entire Italian Music Awards scene.
Again, why can’t this be real life? Plus, "What Dreams Are Made Of" is the kind of song that gets stuck in your head for weeks.
9. When Lizzie and Isabella join forces in a total girl power moment and beat Paolo at his own game.
I bet that was the last time Paolo messed with women.
10. When Gordo and Lizzie kiss on the rooftop!
FINALLY!!!!!
I don’t know about you, but I wish I had a school trip like that.
“The Lizzie McGuire Movie” is currently streaming on Netflix.
