10 Reasons Why Lancaster County Should Be On Your Travel List

This past weekend I had the pleasure of exploring the beautiful Lancaster County of Pennsylvania. Here's 10 reasons why you should definitely put this place on your bucket list.

10. Central Market: the country's oldest farmers market

9. Soft Pretzels: Handmade Amish pretzels - hands down the best pretzel I've ever eaten.

8. Twin Valley Coffee: Local, family-made and owned coffee, roasted right in Elverson, PA.

7. Farmland everywhere - meaning that fresh is always available.

6. Amish country means regular horse & buggy sightings

5. Lapp Valley Farms: a beautiful Amish farm, the cutest pets, THE BEST homemade ice cream and fresh waffle cones all made right there on the farm.

4. Wyebrook Farm Restaurant: from farm to table - literally. Organic, local and beautifully presented. YUM!

3. Li'l Country Store and Miniature Horse Farm: because what's cuter?!?!

2. I know what's cuter: COWS EVERYWHERE. I love cows.

1. Whoopie Pies. Freakin' delicious.

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
