Having an Instagram is STRESSFUL. Sure, our grandparents had to walk uphill both ways in the snow to school, but we have to maintain a balanced follower-to-following ratio and a healthy blend of selfies-to-friends ratio. So who really had it worse? (The answer is us. Duh.)
1. Having to vary who you take pictures with so it isn’t filled with the same person.
If you have the same person in every picture, the less likes you will get, so you must find other people to take pictures with, or do what I do, post selfies. Nothing can get in your way. It doesn’t matter where you are or what you are doing, you will still take as many photos as you possibly can to get the perfect one.
2. Having to pick a filter.
It needs to be the best one that makes you have the utmost perfection. It also needs to be one that hasn’t been frequently used just so you get more likes. You need the best lighting and can’t choose between the millions of filters on Instagram or from other apps.
3. Picking a caption is the worst possible thing.
No one really reads the caption. They just like to scroll on by and double tap as fast as they can. You can honestly just say anything, because it will get looked past.
4. Double tapping someone's old photo.
We are all guilty of Instagram stalking. But the worst moment comes with you accidentally like someone’s old photo. There is no way to undo it, it's too late they probably already got the notification.
5. The person who follows and unfollows you every day.
If you unfollow me and follow me just so I follow you back, I will just stop accepting your follow request and not follow you back. You are slowly killing me. Make up your mind already.
6. That one friend who posts everything that happens in her life.
Who are you trying to be, Kim Kardashian? Your life isn’t that entertaining. Sorry to be the bad news bearer. I mean like really why do you think everyone wants to know your every move?!
7. The friend who posts more than one photo in a day.
What are you doing? We all know the universal rule is one photo per day. If you post more than one photo, you need to do more with your life or do less with Instagram. You definitely won't get a lot of likes on both photos a day unless you are a celebrity.
8. You have to have the perfect follower-to-following ratio.
If you have 100 followers you should not follow back anything close to or over that! Unless you really don’t care about your Instagram, but even then don’t do it.
9. Posting a photo and not getting likes in the first few minutes.
The struggles of having to check your phone over and over again to see how many likes you get. If you don’t get a like in the first few minutes you contemplate deleting the photo but then your hours of effort go to waste.
10. When Instagram does a random cleanup of followers.
Just leave them, I don't care if they do not like my photos, I want every possible follower that I can get. Please do not make me go from 1,000 followers to 900. I do not appreciate it.
