They say that "spending time at high altitudes could help shed some pounds, even if you're just visiting. The higher heights can help speed up your metabolism, while actually lessening hunger cravings."

Psychologist Judith Heerwagon explained in an interview for the same Huffington Post article that, "Just looking at a garden or trees or going for a walk..reduces stress...Something about being in a natural setting that shows clear evidence of stress reduction..." She also stated that there is a theory that people respond positively to things that are good for them, so natural things like getting fresh air can improve our mood.
