10 Reasons I'm Thankful For My Roommates

Let's face it; not everyone considers their roommate a friend and that's okay, but when you are close with your roommate, (and in my case, roommates), college is practically Disney World.

One of the biggest anxieties about going away to college is sharing a room with a practical stranger, but at the same time, it's also an exhilarating experience because you get to learn all about that other person.

I was reluctant at first because I wouldn't have to share a dorm with just one roommate, but two.

Now I feel greedy because I got two of the best roommates anyone could ask for. Only four months into college, and I couldn't picture living with anyone else.

And I'm not an easy person to get out of bed.

2. They Don't Mind When my Alarm Goes off Every Three Minutes:

After all, I do need to set at least ten alarms to make sure I get up in time for class.

3. They Don't Let Me Binge-Watch Netflix Alone:

"Don't watch Grey's Anatomy without me!"

4. They Let Me Jam Out to Taylor Swift:

They even let me hang my poster of her without judgement.

5. They Don't Mind My Excessive Eating Habits:

6. We Have Weekly Target Shopping Sprees:

Seriously, we have more fun there than at the Frat Houses.

7. They Take Care of Me When I'm Sick:

Thankfully one of them is a nursing major...

"You're dehydrated. Drink water."

8. They Accept my Germaphobic tendencies:

They know if they sneeze, they get sprayed with my collection of Lysol.

9. They're Always There for Me:

Especially when I freak out about writer's block and my printer not working.

10. They Never Fail To Make Me Laugh:

Even when we're stressed about our seventeen tests in a week, we still manage to crack jokes.

College is filled with many things, and we're so often lectured to make the right decisions as we head out on our own into the college life. But sometimes it's necessary to indulge in some guilty pleasures as well as just doing things because you can. And honestly, a lot of the time it's inevitable. College is no piece of cake that's for sure, so it's okay to do some things you deep down know you shouldn't....once in a while anyways.
