10 Reasons You Might Hate The 4th Of July
Front Porches

Okay, so we live in America and around here the fourth is arguably our biggest holiday. Us Americans pull out all the stops. We buy fireworks, dress in all red, white, and blue, and literally spend hours with our families. However, the "Amurican" pride holiday is not for everyone. Here are seven reasons why you just might hate the Fourth of July.

1. Fireworks Are Way Too Loud.

I mean, let's be real. Who actually likes all those beautiful colors bursting in the inky night sky and listening to the booming cracks? I mean everyone dreads that stiff feeling you get in your neck after you've been watching those beautiful golden sparklers drifting past the stars for hours on end.

2. Grilling Out Is So Overdone.

Hamburgers? Hot dogs? Fresh BLT's and watermelon covering the table? I mean that just sounds terrible, right? No one actually likes the fresh smell of the grill or the homemade pies and cakes that dress the table in various shades of red, white, and blue.

3. Flag Apparel... Really?

I mean, who actually wants to rock the colors of our American flag proudly in the form of tank tops, shorts, or tee shirts? I mean, 50 stars and 13 stripes is just a trivial pattern, not like it represents the great 50 states of America or the original thirteen colonies or anything like that.

4. There's Way Too Many Fried Foods.

Fried Twinkies, Funnel Cakes, and Elephant Ears. There's absolutely nothing delicious about their flaky exterior or the pull-apart goodness of fried dough sprinkled with powdered sugar, and I mean no one actually liked to take those fun family photos with sugar all over your face and your fresh patriotic threads. Right?

5. Independence Isn't Even Important.

After all, why is it so important for us to celebrate our freedom from another country. Don't you think this might hurt their feelings? Maybe they truly loved us and never wanted us to leave the motherland and this is just one big misunderstanding.

6. Patriotism? Who Needs It.

Do we really need to be proud of our heritage and everything it's taken for us to get this far?

7. Way Too Much Family Time.

On this holiday there's just way too much time enjoying the presence of your family. I mean, for hours you hang out together eating food, watching fireworks, and just having an good ol' time celebrating. Let's face it, that's probably the worst part of the Fourth.

In all honesty, the Fourth of July is one of the most important holidays. This is a time where we get to celebrate not only our founding father's, but also the men and women who defend our country and their families. So, while you're enjoying all the great things about the Fourth mentioned above, make sure you make it a point to thank a service member and their family for their sacrifices to protect you and your family. God Bless America!

Bob's Burgers
Adult Swim

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.
