10 Reasons Going Out Isn't So Easy

Going out has a lot more struggles than what everyone thinks.

10 Reasons Going Out Isn't So Easy

Every week, we get stuck in the same cycle of classes, homework, and projects, but as soon as it hits Thursday afternoon it's the weekend (or Friday if you made the biggest mistake and registered for Friday classes). From morning classes to the longest 10 minutes in your last class and rallying all night, here are 10 reasons why going out isn't as easy as people think.

1.) Sitting through classes.

Sitting in class knowing you're going out tonight makes focusing and actually paying attention that much harder. Your professors know that this is the only thing between you and the weekend, but don't hurry up any lectures so we can get out early and start the party.

2.) Downing coffee.

After having classes and school work all week, you're all sorts of wiped out. Therefore, I start pumping coffee through an IV so I don't fall asleep before we even make it out.

3.) Finishing last minute work.

Knowing I somewhat have my life together before going out makes it acceptable in my head. So I'm just going to get through all the last bit of homework that has to be done.

4.) Deciding on an outfit.

Trying to decide what to wear is probably the hardest decision I make every day. There are about 50 different vibes you can go with, depending on what you wear and every place you go has a different feel.

5.) Doing your makeup

Less is more, and we all know this, but why do I always end up piling on makeup? Watching makeup tutorials videos while doing my makeup always seems like a smart idea, but clearly, my capabilities of blending aren't there yet. For now ill just keep going with the drag queen look and hope for the best.

6.) The Pregame

We all over shoot on this one. Trying to drink everything you can in like an hour...it's not the smartest move. Make sure you remember it's a marathon to last all night, not a quick race.

7.) Line to get in

The wait to get in feels like an eternity and my feet are not meant to stand in heels for longer than like five minutes. Next time I'm skipping to the front of the line and walking in like all the movies.

8.) Mixing

I hope I'm not the only one that knows better than to mix what I'm drinking, but I somehow always do end up switching it up all night and always regret it the next morning.

9.) Ending up on the dance floor

I don't know whose idea it ever is or who lets me go out and start dancing, but I do not like you.

10.) Finally making it home

In reality, this is the best part of the night. Shoes are coming off, sweat pants are going on, and I'm crawling into bed. I don't plan on moving from my bed till it's time get ready for tomorrow night, so please don't disturb.

an image of taylor swift standing center stage surrounded by her backup dancers in elegant peacock esque outfits with a backdrop of clouds and a box rising above the stage the image captures the vibrant aesthetics and energy of her performance during the lover era of her eras tour

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
