After high school, you either move away from your hometown, your family, and friends, or you take advantage of home for whatever amount of time you need to figure out your next move. Regardless of your choice, you will experience leaving your friends, or you'll miss the ones that have left.

Here are 10 Reasons distance makes the heart grow fonder, especially when it comes to your best friends...

1. NOTHING CHANGES.

Although it may seem like it'll never be the same, you can't avoid life, and this will help you and your friendships grow. You will still talk to them every day, and times spent in the same place, (holidays, school breaks, or random weekend visits), means that much more. When you finally see each other, after months apart, it'll feel like you just saw them yesterday!

2. TECHNOLOGY.

Nowadays, are we ever really disconnected? With social medias like Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, and Facebook, you'll never miss a dull moment in each other's lives!

3. GROUP MESSAGES.

Not to mention, that apart from the medias, you still have your text messages, FaceTimes, and phone calls. Keeping each other updated on everything in life doesn't stop after those in-between class check-ins.

4. BREAKS, CONCERTS, OR EVENTS.

Events or planned trips become something to look forward to! Spending that hard earned money that you worked weeks for, (or saved from not going out last weekend), feels right. If you're lucky enough to have your bestie a road trip away, then random weekend visits become days of non-stop fun!

5. NEW PLACES TO CALL HOME.

This has to be one of my favorite things since moving apart from my best friends. There are new places to visit, and so many new friends to meet! Living in a new place means telling your new friends about all the memories and good times you've had with your best friend at home. Naturally, these people learn to know/love your best friend as much as you, so when they visit it's even better! (Plus, all the stories you've heard since they've moved, involve all the people you're about to meet).

6. BETTER STORIES TO SHARE.

So much better. You not only have new friends to introduce, but you also make some of the best memories! Life is constantly changing for you, so it's only important that you keep your best friends in the loop. New stories about school, roommates, nights out, work, exes, f*ck-ups, and hookups!

7. GREATER APPRECIATION.

Honestly, you realize how much your best friends mean to you. You understand more and more why you needed them in your life, and how you still do. Often times, I get the feeling of, "I'm never letting you leave again" because you appreciate time with them so much more.

8. YOU'RE STILL GROWING UP TOGETHER.

Although high school was a crucial time for change and growth, life after high school becomes even more important. The times you do get to talk or hang out, you notice a change in each other. A cool change, that makes you notice that you're getting older, learning more, and growing up. No doubt, though, you're both still just as confused.

9. YOUR FRIENDS ARE THEIR FRIENDS.
You'll grow to appreciate that your high school best friends have the same hometown as you. It's weird realizing that people won't recognize the places, names, or friends in your stories and memories of the past years. (And trust me, people either don't know where "Palmdale" is, or they already have their idea of our town). If you're still living in your hometown, you get to keep your best friends updated on home!

10. SAME TASTE.
They became your best friends for a reason! You still have the same interests and likes, and the new clothes you get don't immediately get worn or taken. Plus, you finally have someone to over-indulge in all of your favorite foods with!

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
