10 Reasons Fall Is The Best

Fall is a wonderful time a year, a happy medium between long, hot summer days and short, cold winter nights. The leaves change, the holiday season begins, pumpkin picking, apple picking, warm sweaters, and cute boots.

1. The Scenery is beautiful

I'm from Massachusetts, so if you know anything about New England, it is that we have beautiful fall foliage. Car rides, long walks, runs, and just casual errands are better because at least we have something beautiful to look at now.

2. Apple Picking

Fresh picked apples and all the wonderful desserts that come with them. There's nothing better than a fresh, crisp apple on a cool fall day. Then of course there is the smell of your house after a fresh baked apple pie.

3. Pumpkin Picking

Its halloween season! Go grab the perfect pumpkin and try to carve one of those super intricate pumpkin designs and probably ending up carving a regular jack-o-lantern, but have fun!

4. The Clothes

Who doesn't love sweaters, boots, and scarves. The weather is just right to not need too many layers but it is cool enough for cute sweaters and scarves. Goodbye flip-flops, hello boots.

5. Cool, Crisp, Air

There's nothing better than walking out of a stuffy building and having a breath of fresh air hit you. The wind is blowing, the sun is still shinning, and the weather is perfect.

6. Flannels

Flannels deserve a category of their own, there's nothing better than throwing on a flannel with leggings and boots and looking super cute, but being so comfy.

7. Football

Sunday's are made for football. Cheering on your team (GO PATS) with family and friends and the sweet victory when they beat your rival.

8. Hot Drinks

Pumpkin spice lattes, warm coffee and cute coffee shops make everything better.

9. Halloween

Free candy, cute little kids in adorable costumes, and lots of parties, could it get any better?

10. Thanksgiving

Family, friends, football, and food. Who doesn't love coming home for lots of home cooked food, friends, and hugs from mom.

Happy Fall Everyone, soak up every minute of it!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
