So, if you're like me then you wake up every morning and smile really big knowing that fall is here, and here are a few reasons why:

  1. PUMPKIN EVERYTHING! Pumpkin bread, pumpkin lattes, pumpkin casserole, pumpkin lotion, pumpkin perfume, pumpkin candles, PUMPKIN PUMPKIN PUMPKIN!!!
  2. Leaves Change Color! Makes for perfect walks, photo taking, picnics, and anything else really because colorful leaves = happiness.
  3. Halloween!!!!! Who doesn’t love halloween!? It’s that time of the year that you can be as sexy, scary, or goofy as you want because the world is in it’s perfect pocket.
  4. It is chilly enough to wear cute boots and scarves and beanies, but not cold enough that you are wearing a thousand layers and still feel like you’re dying.
  5. Pumpkin Patches: I don’t care how old you are, anyone can appreciate a good pumpkin patch.
  6. Corn Mazes: THEY NEVER GET OLD! Running through corn, praying to God that one of the men chasing you with chain saws isn’t actually a psychopath that snuck in with a real chain saw is quite the adrenaline rush. And treating yourself to hot apple cider when you live doesn’t get old either.
  7. Bonfires: because standing around a fire on a cold night, with good friends are the memories you want to hold on to for life.
  8. Prime coffee drinking weather!
  9. Perfect for cuddling (if you’re into that).
  10. Food!! As summer is ‘bikini season’ Fall is plumping season with Thanksgiving and Halloween and promoting anything that makes you happy, because, you’re wearing too many layers for anyone to notice anyways!

Here are the top few things, that I find at least, are some of the most irritating misconceptions that find their way into numerous conversations...

8. "The whole philanthropy thing isn't real, right?"

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
