10 Reasons Fall Is The Best Season
Sarah Grace

If you're anything like me, you've been stocking up on bulky sweaters and fuzzy blankets since last fall. It doesn't matter if it's summer and 95 degrees: I'm the girl who's buying the big fuzzy sweater while shopping because I know that fall I just around the corner. Fall is a very special time, full of laughs and late nights in football stadiums, and it's my favorite season for the reasons listed below.

1. Pumpkin Spice EVERYTHING

Fall means one thing: no one will make fun of you for eating and buying everything and anything pumpkin. Pumpkin spice latte? Yes. Pumpkin spice candle? That too. Pumpkin pie? Always. Any other season and someone would laugh at these things, but during fall, your love for anything pumpkin spice can really shine.

2. Football games

Sarah Grace

Football is one of the defining features of fall, and the season is BACK. Get ready for awesome tailgates and another exciting season. Even if you don't love football, it's still exciting to go and watch the cheerleaders and band and see the energy in the crowd as your team scores a touchdown.

3. Fall Foliage

Fall also means that trees turn into breathtaking sites of orange, yellow, red, and green as you look up into the sky. Somehow, it's always picture perfect.

4. Comfy sweaters

I've been stocking up on fuzzy sweaters, socks and blankets since it was all released last fall, and now the weather is finally cold enough to wear them! Wrap up in that infinity scarf, the bulky sweater, and throw on those brown combat boots because it's fall y'all!

5. Halloween

It doesn't matter how old you are, halloween is always fun for any age. Whether you're a kid dressing up in a fun costume and going tricker treating or an adult passing out candy from your doorstep, it's a time for lots of laughs and fun pictures. Oh, and the insane amount of free candy is pretty great too.

6. Fuzzy blankets

Snuggling up with a glass of hot cocoa, smelling your pumpkin scented candle, and watching Netflix all while curled in your favorite fuzzy blanket is now acceptable, and it's what I'll be doing the majority of this fall for sure.

7. Pumpkin hunting

Hunting for the perfect pumpkin is never an easy task, but it's always a fun one. Whether you're going with family or friends, somehow it's always an adventure and a time to enjoy the fall beauty.

8. Apple picking

Apples are one of my favorite things, and since fall is their harvest season, it's a perfect activity. Plus, no one will know if you snack on one or two while picking.

9. Drinking apple cider

One of my favorite uses for apples is apple cider. It's sweet and you can drink it cold or warm and throw some cinnamon in it to make it extra flavorful.

10. Apple cider donuts

Last but not least, one of my favorite foods of all time: donuts. But in fall guess what? Apple cider donuts are back and better than ever. I usually find myself eating at least two.

There you have it- the ten reasons why fall is the best season. Time to curl up in that cozy blanket, eat an apple cider donut, , turn on Hocus Pocus, and sip on a Pumpkin Spice Latte.

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."
