10 Reasons Fall Is Best On The East Coast

1. Get scared at a haunted asylum

Or if you're too chicken, at least take a photo outside one.

2. Hayrides

Ride around the farm during the day, or wait until it gets dark to go on a haunted hayride, and maybe even get into a hay fight!

3. Foliage

New England is known for its change in season, but all along the East Coast, the changing leaves can be seen in their full fall beauty.

4. Apple picking

Head down to your local orchard to pick up some apples to bake into pies or dip into caramel.

5. Pumpkin picking

Pumpkin picking never gets old, whether you paint them, carve them, or roast the seeds, the possibilities are endless.

6. Pack some blankets and snuggle in your trunk at the drive-in movie theater

America's oldest drive-in movie theater is in Orefield, Pennsylvania.

7. Flannel weather

With quilted vests, and Bean boots, nowhere else does fall fashion like the east coast.

8. Camping

With clear skies and crisp mornings, fall is perfect for stargazing and camping.

9. Bonfires

It wouldn't be fall without a bonfire and s'mores.

10. Octoberfest

There are festivals all along the east coast, but head down south for warmer weather.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
