Disney movies have been in our lives for as long as we can remember. There's something about the sense of nostalgia, joy and magic they bring us. No other type of movie reaches such a large audience and stays with us from childhood until we're watching them with our own grandkids. And here are the 10 main reasons why this is.

1. They make you feel like a kid again.

But that doesn’t mean Disney movies are just for kids. And when someone tells you that, you just give them this look:

And proceed to give them a speech on why their statement is false. They might want to sit down and get comfortable.

2. They make you feel all the feels.

Disney movies are known for their “happily ever afters,” but that’s not what they’re all about. They’re about life, and they show real emotion in both hardships and triumphs.

3. Every Disney movie has characters that you can relate to in various ways.

You crave adventure like Belle...

And wake up for class looking like Anna...

4. Although they can be realistic, you’re well aware that they can also be idealistic.

But you love that aspect, too. It encourages you to reach for dreams that seem too far-fetched and to have expectations that are too high. Disney helps you believe that nothing is impossible.

5. Disney movies are an instant friend-maker.

Because whenever someone mentions one, you give them this look...

And then you skip off into the sunset together, planning a Disney movie night.

6. Disney movies are timeless.

The stories, the music, the characters… they’ve all been a part of so many generations. But even with steady advances in movie-making, we still know that they will continue to live on through generations to come.

But of course, there are the far few who don’t care for Disney movies.

This instantly frustrates and confuses you… how is it humanly possible to dislike Disney movies?! But it offers you a new challenge: to convert them into a Disney movie lover.

7. Not all of the humor is just for kids, contrary to popular belief.

Yes, there are innuendos, sarcastic remarks, and hidden references that further prove Disney movies aren’t just for kids. Realizing jokes that you didn’t get as a kid is just another reason you love Disney movies even more now.

8. You live vicariously through your favorite Disney characters.

Because who doesn't want to have a Disney love story?

9. You have a Disney playlist that you sing to in the car or shower...

Like on the regular... And sometimes you get really into it.

10. There’s magic, and then there’s Disney Magic.

There’s just something about Disney magic that makes you truly believe that dreams really do come true. We can thank Walt for that!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
