10 Reasons Why Dogs Make The Best Friends

For as long as I can remember, my dogs have always been my best friend. Looking back I tried to figure out why that was. Why are dogs just naturally more enjoyable to be around than people? In this article, I will give you 10 reasons why that is. Enjoy!

1. My dog is always excited to see me. Literally every time. If you can find a friend in real life that jumps around and gets drool everywhere every time they see you, hang on to them. You've found a winner.

2. They always listen to my problems when no one else will. Even if it's about boys.

3. They are always the life of the party. We all have that friend we wish we could be like...

4. Leaves me regular presents when I least expect it.

5. They never argue with me about politics. I don't even have to validate their extreme beliefs as a means to preserve the friendship. It is great really, y'all should try it.

6. They always eat more than I do so I never feel like I am eating too much.

7. They don't complain. Unless it is for a treat. Sit a few times, roll over once, play dead and we'll talk. Next.

8. Great taste in fashion. If I am ever in doubt about something being too edgy or extreme, I can always count on them to one-up me and take some of the pressure off of me. Usually.

9. They never touch the radio in the car. They don't touch the volume, the station, comment on your taste in music, or suggest they have better taste.

10. They never back out of plans. Ever. They are the friend that will never stand you up, text you 10 minutes before saying their grandma died, or leave you alone at a restaurant after you've ordered drinks. Ride or die, they will always be there and that is why dogs make the best friends.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way.
