10 Reasons Dogs Are Better Than Boys

One thing I have learned over my 20 years of life is that boys can suck. They make you feel special for a little while, until something or someone better comes along. Most of the time they leave you feeling unappreciated and as if you're not good enough. Luckily, I have also learned another great lesson over my 20 years of life and this lesson is that dogs are way better than boys. If you don't believe me, here are 10 reasons why you should always choose your dog over a boy.

1. They are the best cuddlers

Everyone loves a good cuddle session ... and who's better to cuddle with than your loving dog? By cuddling with your dog you are getting a warm and fluffy pillow, who just wants to make sure you're comfortable instead of having to deal with the whole "spooning" dilemma.

2. They actually listen to what you're saying

No matter what you are talking about, your dog is listening. No more saying "Are you even listening to me?" because you know they always are. They might not understand what you're saying but they'll look like they actually care about what you're talking about.

3. They are 100 times cuter than boys

Let's face it, nothing is cuter than a dog's face. The way they look at you with their eyes just melts your heart and sees into your soul. A dog literally looks cute no matter what they are doing. Boys on the other hand, do not have that luxury.

4. Wherever you're going, they want to come with

You could be going to the grocery store or the bathroom ... but it doesn't matter to your dog. They are just going to be happy by the fact that they are able to stay by your side. You could take them to the mall (if that was allowed, which it totally should be) to try on 50 different outfits and they would sit there the whole time with a smile on their face. Would a guy do that? No.

5. They are extremely loyal

You'll never find someone as loyal to you as your dog is. Your dog will never go off wandering down the street to find a better owner because in their eyes you're the best person they could ever ask for.

6. They don't care what you look like

Your dog could care less what you're wearing or what your hair looks like. They won't judge you if your hair is greasy and your makeup is a mess. You could be wearing your best dress or your yoga pants and your dog will still smother you with kisses.

7. They will always protect you

If you're feeling scared, all you need to do is cuddle up next to your dog and they take the fear right away. You will always feel safe in the presence of your dog no matter what the situation entails.

8. They always know how to cheer you up

One special talent that all dogs seem to have is being able to tell when you're upset. They will come over to you with their tail wagging and lick the tears straight off your face. Your dog hates seeing you sad and will do just about anything to cheer you up.

9. They'll always be waiting for you to come home

You'll never have to wonder if your dog will be at home or if he went out to a bar with his friends. Your dog would rather lay at your front door waiting for you to come home than go out in the backyard to play. You'll always come home to an overly excited dog and honestly what's better than that?

10. They love you unconditionally

No matter what stupid mistakes you make or great things you accomplish, your dog will always love you. They'll never get bored of you and go looking for someone new because they appreciate you and all of your flaws.

So the next time some stupid boy breaks your heart or makes you feel unappreciated, just hug your dog a little bit tighter and throw on some Netflix because they'll always be happy to just chill with you.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
