People usually see December birthdays as the worst possible month to have a birthday. You always see the articles saying, "15 Reasons Why December Birthdays SUCK!" Your family usually tags you in these articles, too.

But what makes the other months so much better? July is way too hot. Not to mention the fact that all of your friends are on vacation. February isn't really that special either. It's just way too cold and everyone's depressed about Valentine's Day.

Being born right in the middle of the month (December 15th) I have a lot of experience in the December birthday pity party. Here are ten reasons why December is most definitely the best month to have a birthday.

1. You get to see all your family around your birthday

Okay. Maybe that's not the best thing. It is nice to see all your relatives together during the holidays. Since your birthday is around the holidays you are blessed with the gift of your relatives that you see once a year wishing you a happy birthday, in awe that you're as old as you are. For some, this is a nightmare. I mean a lot of people want to stay away from their relatives. But for others, this really is a blessing and makes your birthday even more special.

2. Because you see all your relatives, they usually give you gifts when they normally wouldn't

Your great-aunt you see once a year probably doesn't think about your birthday except it being close to Christmas. She gives you a card and some cash. Sweet. Repeat this for other relatives who you wouldn't think of inviting to a dinner but gives you something Christmas Eve and you have a nice stash of cash for post-holiday fun.

3. You get double the gifts, even if it's combined with Christmas

Contrary to popular opinion, people don’t usually combine gifts for birthday and Christmas. You might not get as much for your birthday as you would if it were another time of year but your family and friends really try and think of you. December is a month full of gifts and that's not a bad thing.

4. Even though it's hard to get people together for your birthday, they try to give you gifts anyway

It can be hard to organize a party or dinner with your friends and family. They have holiday parties with their family or are working extra for Christmas money. They do however feel bad for you and try to give you something anyway even if they can't be there. Extra gifts without the stress of a party or talking with family, some say that's a win-win.

5. It's the most wonderful time of the year

The most wonderful time of the year is the holidays, Andy Williams said so. What makes it even better is the fact that your birthday is part of it. With the holidays and your birthday at the same time, why wouldn't December be the best month? All of this makes December even more magical than it already is.

6. You share your birth month with Christ himself

Okay, most people say Jesus was actually born in the summer. But tradition says he was born in December and that's enough to be proud of. You December 25th babies, you're truly blessed.

7. Because it's so cold, sometimes you get two birthdays

As a kid, you always wanted a pool party like your friends. With a December birthday, this isn't possible (unless you go to an indoor pool and what fun is that?). This turned out to be a blessing in disguise because you probably convinced your parents to give you a half birthday party in June. Sweet.

8. The parties and the food

The best part of the holidays is arguably the food. The parties you attend always have the best food. And in December, parties can be every weekend. There's the ham, cranberries, much alcohol (for the drinking type), pies, LOTS of cookies, hot chocolate, and peppermint flavored everything. What's not to love about a month with so much food?

9. Everything is glittered and gold

Who says everything that glitters isn't gold because in December that is far from the truth. Everything is decorated and glittery and gold. You can wear the most spectacularly glittery outfit for your birthday and people think you're just being festive and not out doing your birthday.

10. Everyone is celebrating the end of finals and your birthday is an excuse to have fun

With the end of a semester and the end of finals, everyone's ready to have some fun. You invite them to a fun dinner and who's to say no? It's a great time to celebrate and that makes December so much more exciting.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
