Warm colors & cool weather make for a beautiful time of year

10 Reasons Why Autumn Is The Best Season
My Merry Christmas

Everybody looks forward to a certain season for different reasons. Summer is for the beach and relaxation, spring brings new life and beautiful flowers (despite the pollen allergies that follow) and winter is for the holiday season, snow, and bringing families together. Fall is the best of all four – in my opinion, at least. Here are ten reasons why fall is the best season ever.

1. The Weather

It’s cool but not too cold. It’s warm but not scorching hot. It’s the perfect weather to go outside and relax, rather than staying in all day because it’s too hot or cold. There’s just something about the way the air feels in the fall that makes it feel like you’re in a whole new world. It’s the most comforting feeling in the world.

2. Football

Three words: Friday Night Lights. High school football games are some of the best nights that you will have in high school. Then on Saturday, you have college football. Then on Sunday and Monday, you’ve got Pro football. When fall hits, your weekend is suddenly all booked up, but I’m not complaining.

3. Books

Everybody reads all year long, but for some reason reading during the fall is different. You can read outside in the beautiful weather, watch the leaves fall while listening to some chill music. It’s just so relaxing. It’s amazing how fall can turn something so average into something great.

4. Flannel

Flannel. There are no words that can describe the way I feel about flannel. It’s cute, it’s comfortable, and you can pretty much wear it with any outfit. Like sweaters, it’s the perfect balance of keeping you warm but not too hot. Ugh, it’s just the best.

5. The Fair

The rides, the lights, the funnel cakes. It all adds up to be one of the best parts of fall. No matter how sketchy the rides may look – and some of them look pretty sketchy – I always have to ride all of them at least once. It’s just so much fun to get to hang out with your friends and ride all the scary rides without even having to leave your own town.

6. Pumpkin

Of course, I had to include pumpkin on this list. Now I’m not the biggest fan of pumpkin pie or even the infamous PSL (pumpkin spice latte, for those who live under a rock), but I love pumpkin spice scented candles and carving pumpkins for Halloween. Pumpkins are just so darn cute and I just love them.

7. Hallowechang

HALLOWEEN. Arguably one of the best holidays to ever exist. It’s just so much fun! Dressing up as a kid (and as an adult, I guess) was the best part… well, aside from the candy. Now as a teenager, it’s just so much fun to hang out with friends and hand out candy to all the little kids that come by the house. Scary movies are also an added bonus to the holiday.

8. Sweaters

They’re cozy, they’re soft and they come flying out of my closet on the first day of fall. As soon as the weather turns cooler, I start wearing sweaters. They’re the most comfortable item of clothing in my closet and they’re the perfect balance of keeping you warm but not too hot.

9. Leaves

The leaves changing color every fall is one of the most aesthetically pleasing things to see. When the reds, oranges, and browns all mix together, it just looks like a beautiful warm rainbow. It’s just so satisfying to watch.

10. Thanksgiving

Food, family and football make this holiday great. No matter how much you fight with your family, having everybody together on this day makes everyone so happy. Combine that with delicious food and great football games and you have a successful holiday.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. Ever heard of “pain is temporary, but GPA is forever?” Pre-meds don’t just embody that motto; we live and breathe it. Here are 10 symptoms you’re down with the pre-med student syndrome.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.

One Book Made Me Question Existence In Its Entirety

"The Stranger" by Albert Campus touches upon many heavy elements... but not in the way you expect. Although it touches upon the aspects of death and love, it also deals with a hidden philosophy similar to that of nihilism.

The story follows the short life events of Meursault, a Frenchman whose carelessness for his actions eventually ends him in jail and dependent on a jury of people to judge the ethicality of his decision and the punishment that he deserves. He eventually gets the death penalty and all throughout he is nonchalant and almost apathetic towards his situation. He finally snaps when the prison sends a priest to him to absolve him of his sins and to cajole him in confessing to the lord.
