10 Reasons I Aspire to Be Like Elle Woods

Watching "Legally Blonde," we all came to love and admire Elle Woods for her determination and absolute fierceness that her whole life embodied. We saw her transform form a sorority girl to an amazing lawyer and did it all without a man by her side. We rooted for her, and I bet at some point you knew you wanted to be her (and probably still do.) Here are 10 reasons I aspire to be just like Elle Woods.

1. She is loyal to literally everyone.

In the movie, Elle's loyalty is one of her greatest characteristics she has.You never saw her break her promise or stab anyone in the back. She was loyal through everything. She is loyal to her man, her friends, her sorority, and her client, Brooke Wyndham. When Callahan really needed Brooke's alibi, she did not give it because it would break the trust between Elle and Brooke, and that ended up helping Elle become a great lawyer.

2. Her style is SUPER FAB.

Elle Woods is the queen of style, and she always dressed to impress. Even though this movie was made in the early 2000s, I would honestly still wear every outfit she rocked.

3. Her confidence is through the roof.

Elle's confidence oozed out of her. She knew she could make it into Harvard, and she did.

4. She never took less than what she deserved.

Yes, she followed Warner to law school. Yes, she tried to win him back, but she realized how awful he treated her and kicked him to the curb. You go, girl!

5. She fought to be a lawyer, and a good one at that.

While everyone was telling her she wasn't good enough or had what it takes to be a lawyer, she never believed them. She worked and worked to be successful and that is something that everyone should strive to do.

6. She stopped being the stereotypical lawyer and just went back to being her true self.

We watched Elle grow at her time at Harvard. Being the odd-girl-out, Elle had this pressure to fit in with her peers and also the one who stole Warner from her, but she soon realized that being herself is something to be proud of.

7. Her friendship with Paulette is the perfect model of true friendship.

Elle and Paulette are #friendshipgoals. They perfectly balance each other out. When one needed the other, they were always there. I mean, Elle taught Paulette how to win her man. That sounds like an awesome friend to me.

8. She is a feminist icon.

Throughout the whole movie, Elle is breaking gender norms. First, she was a woman going to be a lawyer. Second, she was a blonde woman going to be a lawyer. She crushed the gender stereotypes one step (in cute shoes) at a time. Elle proved that women can do anything if they set their mind to it.

9. She always had a positive attitude.

Elle was never negative about anything. She was always the one to encourage. She was positive that Brooke was innocent and that they would win the case without an alibi. She was positive when she was the only one wearing a costume to Vivian's party. You never saw her complain or get down on herself.

10. She ended up with the man of her dreams, but never relied on him to reach her goals.

AHHHH. Elle and Emmett are the cutest couple to ever live. Emmett accepted Elle for who she was and Elle did the same for Emmett. Also, Emmett never once doubted Elle's abilities. #Goals

Yes, I know this is from the second movie, but look how adorable!

Bow down to Queen Elle.

The 5 Painfully True Stages Of Camping Out At The Library

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

As this semester wraps up, students can’t help but be stressed about finals. After all, our GPAs depends on these grades! What student isn’t worrying about their finals right now? It’s “goodbye social life, hello library” time from now until the end of finals week.
