10 Reasons I Am Thankful For My God

**First off, I do not expect everyone to agree, nor am I trying to push anyone into believing what I do in any way, shape, or form. Now that that's out of the way, let's get to the good stuff.**

I am not the perfect Christian, I am a sinner, and my God still loves me despite these facts. Here are 10 reasons why I am thankful for my God, not all the reasons because I could go on for hours. Let me know in the comments why you are thankful for your God!

1. He is always there.

On my good days, bad days, and every day in between, He is always there to listen to my complaints, my victories, my defeats, He is always there to listen. I know wherever I go, whatever I do, He is always there to watch over me and guide me in the direction of the path He has so graciously laid out for me.

2. He is a forgiving God.

I make mistakes, I sin, I do things I shouldn't knowing that the consequences could be bad, I say things I don't mean and do things I wish I could take back. No matter what I do, what I say, or what I think, I know I can ask my God for forgiveness and he will wipe my slate clean. If I am sincerely sorry, and he always knows, I know I can start over in His eyes.

3. He is a loving God.

He loves me, you, your parents, your brother's nephew, everyone you can think of. He loves us, He sent His son to die on the cross for our sins, He has given us everything we ever needed knowing that He would not receive proper thanks or be re-payed. He loves us despite all of our wrongs every single day and I think that is the most important thing to remember every single day.

4. He is an understanding God.

He understands that no matter how hard I try, I will not make it to service every single Sunday. He understands that I forget to pray more than once a day. He understands that some days I need to pray 200 times. He understands that sometimes I forget to thank Him for what I have and only ask for what I want. He understands that I am not perfect and loves me just the same.

5. For when He tells me no.

No matter how hard I pray, no matter how much I think I need something or someone, no matter how many times I ask God for what I want, sometimes the answer is just no. Looking back at some of the things I decided I couldn't "live without" I am so beyond thankful that he decided that it wasn't part of my path.

6. For when He tells me not right now.

More times than I can count, I have asked for something and have received at a time that made much more sense than when I originally asked for it. I love that He always provides me with exactly what I need, even if when I think I need it isn't the right time.

7. For putting exactly the right people in my life, at exactly the right time.

In my experience, God has always provided exactly the right people at exactly the time I needed them. Whether it be my step mom, my church friends, my government teacher, my best friend, my baby sister, anyone I have ever truly needed He has provided for me at the times when I didn't even know they would matter so much. They have provided stepping stones in my life and God placed them there knowing they would do exactly that.

8. For taking people out of my life when they started to hold me down.

Even if it hurt when they had to go, even if I didn't understand why I wasn't becoming a better person with them in my life, God knew and always knows when it is time when someone has to go. Looking back, my life has becoming so much better and so much bigger now that those certain people are gone and I owe all of that to God.

9. He had blessed me with everything I could ever need.

I have a roof over my head, a family who loves me, clothes on my back, food in my belly, and a place to worship him freely, and a beautiful country to do so in. I have all I could ever need in this world, maybe not everything I want, but that's okay.

10. He has never ever given up on me.

My God has never left me in a place where I thought I had no one. He has always had my back, always been my biggest fan, always rallied for me, always loved me, and never ever said "she messed up too bad this time, I'm done." I know that he will never turn his back on me, never leave me hanging, never leave me completely in the dark, and never ever decided he has had enough of my mistakes.

My God is an amazing, loving, kind, forgiving, perfect God who is always there.

Again, please feel free to leave the reasons why you love your God in the comments. I can't wait to read them!

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
