Everyone who knows me well knows that I’m a strong supporter of taking naps. With a busy schedule, early mornings, and late nights, sometimes it’s hard to properly function without getting some shuteye in the middle of the day. Here are just ten of the reasons I couldn’t live without naps:

1. It can be hard to get a good, full night sleep

Sometimes when life gets tough or especially busy, you can't always get enough sleep at night, so you have to make up for it during the day.

2. They only take up a short amount of time

Naps can last for hours, but sometimes the best ones happen quickly.

3. Sleeping is good for you

Literally every doctor reccommends that you get a sufficient amount of sleep.

4. They can give you a little boost of energy

When you're sleepy, a nap can usually cure you and curb the issue!

5. They can improve your attitude

It's the perfect way to fix 'waking up on the wrong side of the bed".

6. Naps can be taken at any time of the day

9am, 2pm, 8pm... it's always an acceptable time to snooze.

7. Naps can be taken (almost) anywhere

I can't even tell you all the places I've napped (or seen others napping) besides my bed.

8. They can soothe stress

You can't get stressed out while you sleep... plus taking a step back can give you a new perspective on your problems.

9. Naps can make you more productive

Nobody works well when they're tired. Napping helps you get more done when you wake up!

10. They can act as a break from life

Who doesn't wish they could put a pause on reality from time to time? Dreams are so often better than real life, so naps are a good way to step back from life for a short time.

These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.

For many undergraduates across the nation, the home stretch has begun. Only one more semester remains in our undergraduate career. Oh, the places we will go! For the majority of college seniors, this is simultaneously the best and worst year out of the past four and here’s why.

1. The classes you are taking are actually difficult.

A schedule full of easy pottery throwing and film courses is merely a myth on the average campus. With all of those prerequisites for the upper-level courses and the never-ending battle you fight each year during registration for limited class seats, senior year brings with it the ability to register for the final courses you need to fulfill your major. Yet, these are not the easy entry level courses. These are the comprehensive, end of major, capstone courses designed to apply the knowledge from all your previous courses, usually in the form of an extensive research paper or engaged learning project. The upside is you actually probably really enjoy these classes but alas there is no room for slackers here.
