After what has been a tumultuous election year, November 8th is upon us. Now, I'm not going to tell you who to vote for, or what my opinion is on the presidential candidates, since I don't want to discourage people from voting. My hope is that those of you who can vote will vote for those who can't (like me), and will choose the candidate who will make positive and impactful change for the country. Here are some quotes to remind you to do your civic duty to bring the change you wish to see. Get out and vote, and make sure that your ballot makes a difference for your generation and those to follow. You'll appreciate it someday.

1. "Every election is determined by the people who show up." -Larry J. Sabato

2. "The job facing American voters… in the days and years to come is to determine which hearts, minds and souls command those qualities best suited to unify a country rather than further divide it, to heal the wounds of a nation as opposed to aggravate its injuries, and to secure for the next generation a legacy of choices based on informed awareness rather than one of reactions based on unknowing fear." -Aberjhani

3. "There's no such thing as a vote that didn't matter." -Barack Obama

4. "Bad officials are elected by good citizens who do not vote." -George Jean Nathan

5. “Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom, must, like men, undergo the fatigues of supporting it.” -Thomas Paine

6. "Those who stay away from the election think that one vote will do no good. ‘Tis but one step more to think one vote will do no harm.” -Ralph Waldo Emerson

7. "We should all do something to right the wrongs that we see and not just complain about them.” -Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis

8. "The greatest threats to Democracy are comfort and apathy." -T. Rafael Cimino

9. "Voting isn't the most we can do, but it is the least. To have a democracy, you have to want one." -Gloria Steinem

10. "The ballot is stronger than the bullet." -Abraham Lincoln

birthday party

My birthday has never been my favorite holiday. I've found that I'm more excited to celebrate my friends' and family members' birthdays more than my own. I don't like being the center of attention, so I usually celebrate over dinner with a small group of family and friends. This way, I can enjoy myself naturally without feeling like I have to entertain everyone and make sure they are satisfied. In the past when I've had large parties, I was so nervous that people weren't perfectly content that I didn't enjoy myself at my own celebration.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes.
