Being a twin is all fun and games until you get asked the same, dreaded questions over and over again.

Here are the top 10 questions that twins are tired of answering:

1. Are you twins?

As a twin, I get asked this question often, especially since my brother looks like he could be 21 and I look like I'm 15. Honestly, some people cannot believe it. I don't always mind it, but what does get annoying is having to answer the same question to multiple people within a short amount of time. What’s even more annoying? The follow-up questions...

2. So, are you identical?

No. I am a girl and he is a boy so there is no possible way that we could be identical. I usually feel bad for people when they ask me this question because I am silently judging them for not knowing something that seems so simple to me. Im sure people who are identical twins get tired of hearing this

So, please do not ask this question unless you really have to or you will get judged. You’ve been warned.

3. What's it like being a twin?

I used to never know how to answer this question. The one day, I decided to answer it with a question: “I don’t know, what’s it like not being a twin? Boring?” I really don't know the differences between being a twin and not being a twin, as it’s all I have ever known!

To be honest, the only significant differences are having to share a birthday with someone else in your family and being in the same grade as them throughout school. Other than that, my twin and I are completely different and act just like brothers and sisters with age gaps do!

4. Why don't your names match?

Because Michael and Michelle would be too confusing for my mom? I don’t know! My parents wanted us to be our own individual people; being a twin does not define who we are. We are two normal people who were just born on the same day! Besides, matching names for twins is so cliché. Don’t do it.

5. Do twins run in your family?

No, no they do not. Even if they did, is it really that interesting? There are many causes of multiple births, not just it running in a person's family!

6. Who is older?

Ah, the dreaded question for the twin born second. What's the answer? My brother. By a whole minute.

Even though my brother is a minute older, that doesn't mean that he's more dominant. Is he actually stronger? Yes, but that’s not the point. Am I treated like the baby in the family? Again, yes, but not the point.

7. Is twin telepathy a real thing?

I hate to break it to you, but no. Twin telepathy is not a real thing. Just like you and your siblings, us twins cannot communicate with each other through our minds. If we could, that would be great. I would probably tell him that to bring me Cheez-Its, but he goes to school 100-miles away. What a waste that would be.

8. Do you have your own language?

No, we do not have our own language. My mom swears that my brother and I did as babies, but really, we don't. We both did take French throughout middle and high school and sometimes communicate that way, so maybe that counts? I know just to mess with people some twins do create their own language. We aren't born communicating in a super-secret twin language only we know about.

9. Who's smarter?

This question drives me crazy. Twins are constantly compared to each other by family, friends, and teachers, but mostly by complete strangers. Please, spare us the aggravation and do not ask this question. Most twins have different strengths and weaknesses; it's not easy to compare us. We both think we are the smarter twin, always have, always will.

10. Do you feel each other's pain?

No. Hard no. Definitely not. If we could, I would feel bad for my brother because I’m a dancer and am constantly getting injured and am sore 24/7. But no, we cannot feel each other’s pain, again we are normal human beings!
