10 Questions College Students Will Be Asked Over Break

No, Aunt Margret, I do not have a boyfriend yet.

10 Questions College Students Will Be Asked Over Break

The holidays are fantastic. There's time for turkey, caroling, presents, and bombarding college students with questions. These students should start preparing now to answer these questions.

1. “How’s School Going?”

I write 3 papers a week, typically spend 20 hours studying, and am forced to sit through hours of lectures. It’s fine.

2. “Do You Have a Boyfriend/Girlfriend?”

No, but every person around me is happily in love, thanks for reminding me.

3. “What is Your Major?”

Well, right now it’s *insert major*, but the average college student changes their major 4 times, so I'm sure it will be different next time I see you.

4. “What do you plan to do after graduation?”

I don’t even know what I'm doing in two days let alone in 4 years.

5. “How are your grades this semester?”

At this point, the college student will change the subject as quickly as possible.

6. “Do you have any internships set up ?”

Once again, you’re asking too much of me. I plan on putting this off until it is completely necessary.

7. “Have you been partying at college?”

If I was partying, when would I ever have time to study!

8. “How are you doing financially?”

The funds are low and my bank account is in single digits… let’s just not talk about it.

9. “What have you been doing with your free time?”

I know what you want to hear, but I'm sorry to disappoint you. What little time I have to relax has been spent binge-watching.

10. “Have you made a lot of new friends?”

Hopefully, the answer to this one is yes. In addition, there are some pretty crazy stories to be told about the people you meet in college.

College is a fun time, but it's also very stressful. There is an overwhelming pressure to be successful, and the holidays are pretty much a time for people to check in on your level of success. It's okay to not have everything figured out yet.

Bob's Burgers
Adult Swim

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.
